See the best of K’gari (Fraser Island) on this full-day guided tour from Rainbow Beach. Swim in freshwater lakes, stroll through lush rainforests, and visit iconic landmarks like the Maheno Shipwreck—all while travelling in a comfortable 4WD coach across the world’s largest sand island.

Getting started

Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Rainbow Beach accommodation. After check-in and a short safety briefing, you’ll head to Inskip Point and board the ferry to K’gari.

What to expect

Central Station & Wanggoolba Creek: Walk among ancient ferns and towering gums at this historic logging site turned tranquil rainforest retreat.

Lake McKenzie: Take a dip in the stunningly clear waters of this perched lake, famous for its white silica sand and vivid hues.

75 Mile Beach: Drive along the island’s expansive coastal highway, keeping an eye out for dingoes, birds of prey, and humpback whales during migration season (July–October).

Eli Creek: Relax as you float down this gentle freshwater stream, which pours millions of liters of clear water into the ocean every hour.

Maheno Shipwreck: Stop for a closer look at the SS Maheno, a trans-Tasman luxury liner turned WWI hospital ship that was beached during a cyclone in 1935.

The Pinnacles: Learn about the cultural and geological significance of these colourful, layered sand formations sacred to the Butchulla people.

Return ferry & drop-off: After a full day exploring K'gari, board the ferry and return to Rainbow Beach, followed by drop-off at your accommodation.
