Pre-booking this access ticket saved us so much confusion at the venue. Once at the cave entrance, you board a tiny rowboat and have to lie flat to get through the narrow opening. The glowing blue light reflecting from the seabed is absolutely stunning. Remember to bring cash for the mandatory €18 rowboat service paid on-site!

The natural acoustics inside the cavern are incredible—our boatman started singing, and it echoed beautifully off the stone walls. The floating route is short (about 60 meters), but the view of the electric blue water is worth every penny. Double-check the sea conditions before heading down!

Departing from Sorrento was quick and stress-free. The yacht felt elite and spacious. Cruising around the Faraglioni arches with background music playing while sipping cold limoncello was phenomenal. Four hours of free time on land gave us ample window to visit San Michele.

A short but unforgettable visit into one of Capri’s most mesmerizing natural wonders, where light, water, and stone create a dreamlike setting.

Getting started

Make your way to the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzura) entrance and keep your ticket ready for validation. Since the cave opening is extremely low, access is only possible by small rowboat, which must be arranged and paid for on-site.

Blue Grotto

Tucked into Capri’s rocky coastline, it was believed that Grotta Azzura was Roman emperor Tiberius' private nymphaeum. A few artifacts of worship were even uncovered from its seabed.

Low cave entrance: To enter, you’ll board a small rowboat and lie back as you pass through the narrow, meter-high opening.

Blue glow: Inside, sunlight filters through an underwater cavity and fills the cave with its signature radiant blue light.
