Standing at the Acropolis on April 26, 2026 felt surreal in the best way. My boyfriend and I went early, and watching the sun hit the Parthenon as the city slowly woke up below us was something I won’t forget. The scale, the history, the quiet moments between crowds—it all hits you at once. What surprised me most was how alive it still feels. You read about it your whole life, but being there in person is different—the details in the marble, the views over Athens, even the walk up adds to the experience. It’s not just a “see it and go” landmark; it’s something you actually feel. Pro tip: go early (seriously game changing), wear good shoes, and take your time. It’s absolutely worth it.

The entry to the Acropolis was smooth and orderly. It was an easy ascent to reach the top. There Wes good signage to tell you what each structure was and a brief history of it. They are pathways were well marked to keep the flow going. The only negative thing was those people who were acting like the buildings were there for their own personal photo shoot. I saw one lady who actually shooed a gentleman away because he was interfering with her photography. I would suggest monitoring this and stopping it.

It was truly wonderful! We visited so many historical sites and explored the vibrant flea market. The journey was incredibly smooth and comfortable thanks to the Hap on Hapoff bus. It really made the experience enjoyable and stress-free.

J'ai un avis mitigé : le site est incroyable, aucun pb sur les billets MAIS l'ascenseur était en panne pour la journée et ma maman étant en mobilité réduite, elle n'a pu accéder au site et je n'ai pas pu me faire rembourser sa place ce qui est très dommage.

The Acropolis is a stunning Athenian temple complex located on a rocky outcrop above the city. Stop by the ruins of legendary structures like the Propylaea, the entrance to the ancient temple of Parthenon. With your audio guide in 3 languages, wander across the once-sacred halls of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus will leave you in awe. This large amphitheater was built in AD 161 by wealthy Roman Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife Regilla and is still used today for music festivals.

Bring along a government ID when you visit the museum.

At the Acropolis site, there is no network signal so please download the audio tour before your visit.

Each audio tour stop is geo-located so to listen to all the information provided, you've to wait for the narration to move forward to the next stop. Skip stops by choosing the next or by choosing the one you want from the menu

Visitors are encouraged to use credit cards in all financial transactions in the museum.

It's recommended that you wear comfortable shoes as this experience includes a fair amount of walking.

Bring along your sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, and water bottle.

Restrictions

Acropolis & Parthenon

The following museum services/facilities will no longer be offered to visitors until further notice: Family backpacks, baby strollers, wheelchairs, Reading Lounge on the second floor, and Parent’s Room on the first floor.

Backpacks and large bags must be left in the cloakroom where they will be disinfected using a steam appliance.
