Our guide was excellent but the volume of people that the Palace permit to be on site was very disappointing. So many people that it was very difficult to appreciate the splendour of the rooms and identify the areas that our great guide was speaking about. Once we were in the gardens it was evident that the volume of people wishing to use the golf carts and the mini train far exceeded the transport available . I am very glad that I have two books at home about Versailles that I can read at my leisure as had no desire to take part in the bun fight that the Palace management have created.

Bous avons été accompagnée par Alix, une jeune femme professionnelle dans le métier, qui été là au bon endroit indiqué avec pas mal d'avance. On a adorée sa fason de nous accompagner (elle avait un micro et nous des casque pour bien l'entendre dans tout ce bouhaha. Souriante, elle nous a donné des anecdotes, et contextualisé les évènements.

Our guide was excellent. We loved the Palace. Disappointed that the equestrian statue was being renovated. Way too much to do in a day if you are in your late 60's. Just too much ground to cover. We wete too tired to even get into the gardens. But we did hire a cart to get to the petit and grand trianons. No way we could have walked it.
