Getting started
The safari begins with pickup from your Rovaniemi city center hotel, Ounasvaara, or Santa Claus Village. After a quick transfer to the safari house, you’ll receive a safety briefing and get fitted with thermal overalls, boots, and a helmet before heading out.
What to expect
This guided outdoor activity lets you experience the Arctic landscape up close, combining the thrill of snowmobiling with the tranquility of Lapland’s winter wilderness. The program lasts 2–3 hours, with 1 hour dedicated to snowmobile driving.
What to bring

Bring casual winter clothing and a winter hat; all other necessary winter gear (thermal overall, boots, woollen socks, balaclavas, gloves or mittens, and helmet) is provided.

Bring a valid driver’s license if you intend to drive a snowmobile.
What’s not allowed

Only guests aged 18 and above with a valid driver’s license may operate a snowmobile.

Children may not ride as a snowmobile passenger unless they are tall and strong enough to reach the handles and treads and hold on securely; otherwise, they must travel in a sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile.

Personal jackets and shoes are not permitted during the excursion and must be left at the safari house.

Alcohol, drugs, and any form of intoxication are strictly prohibited during the activity.
