We truly enjoyed our visit to Monet house and gardens. My only recommendation is to have better transportation system from the train station to Monet's house and gardens and vice versa. The shuttle that took us was a rough ride, it is also not enclosed which is not pleasant when the weather is cold. I also wish the shuttle back to the train station would run more often. Having said all this, the visit was fabulous and we truly enjoyed this visit!

We enjoyed looking through the two gardens. The water Lilly garden gave us some magnificent photos with a special light. The house was a highlight with all the relics from Monet' life there.

I loved how light the crowd was! I loved the beauty of the ponds and paths and garden and the house. We wish we could have stayed for days! My mother was a landscape designer with a specialty in aquatic gardens and so it made me feel closer to her memory. And the weather could not have been better. I also loved how undeveloped the land was around Giverny - that you could look out to a pasture with cows and a stream. A truly unspoiled place. It was such a welcome respite (and delightful train ride) from the sweaty, bustling, expense of Paris! I had longed to see Giverny ever since taking an Art History class in college and also selling many copies of the book Linnea in Monet's Garden when I worked in a bookstore in Venice, CA (as well as introducing it to children in my children's school library). Monet's House and Garden at Giverny was one of the best things my daughter, Anna (20), and I did during this too-brief 2 week trip to Europe from Malibu, CA. Thank you for your amazing stewardship of this historic place of artistic inspiration.
