Easy to book, smooth entry, and seamless transition to the actual Castle and Ramparts! The Castle itself is really nice. We opted for the extra audio tour after we arrvied which was worth the 4 euro pp - at least in the Castle section. Feel free to hop off of the Ramparts midway through if needed, especially if you are taking the tour during lunch time. Places in the city fill up fast and are only (usually) open from 12-2pm!

We really enjoyed the experience. The castle is amazing with its walls and state of conservation where you can appreciate the local investment for its maintenance. We are Spanish and the only thing you have to take into account is the temperature and the budget.

The castle is magnificent. Kept very well. It is very nice to see the city from the top of the ramparts. Sitting in the courtyard inside the castle is relaxing. The walk on the walls is spectacular. Being off-season there were not many people so our visit went very well.

I enjoyed the visit and the walk on the ramparts. Unfortunately it was very cold and windy, so I couldn't stay long.

Carcassonne is great and definitely worth a visit, no question about it. We bought our tickets online the night before, two tickets each with an audio guide. However, the audio guide is provided via smartphone, and since we only had one cell phone with us, we basically paid for an audio guide that we couldn't use. Unfortunately, the opening hours until 5 p.m. do not apply to the restroom, which was already closed at 4:45 p.m.!
