Took my parents on the Halong Bay cruise for their anniversary and wow, it was even better than I thought. Weather was a bit hazy in the morning but cleared up for those EPIC limestone views. Staff made a big fuss about my folks’ anniversary (cake + song, so sweet!). Food was sooo much – def try the shrimp. Only thing, felt a bit rushed at the caves, but maybe that’s just me wanting to stare at rocks forever. Overall, felt super cared for. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Went solo, not sure what to expect but ended up chatting with a bunch of people – crew really encourage mingling. Boat gets crowded after lunch, so grab a deck chair early. The lunch buffet? Yummm and lots of veggie options. Tour guide Linh had hilarious stories. Kinda pricey but I guess worth it for the views alone.

First cruise ever and Halong Bay set the bar HIGH. The staff legit remembered every guest’s name, which blew my mind. We danced on deck after dinner – not a dancer but the music was infectious (even my teen rolled his eyes less than usual). Only downside: bathrooms are small, but everything was spotless.

Two nights with my bestie and it was a DREAM. Kayaked through quiet coves and saw monkeys! The sunrise was UNREAL. Staff so friendly – kept bringing us fruit platters. Karaoke night got a little wild, but in the best way. Would go again, but bring more sunscreen next time… I turned into a tomato.

Took the day trip with my gf. Transfer from Hanoi was smooth, but LONG. Once on the boat, everything clicked – food, views, guides, all great. Couldn’t take pics inside the caves (no flash allowed) which was a bummer. Still, Halong Bay is just as pretty as all the photos. Worth the early wakeup.
