I originally booked the Aurora Chase with huskies, but due to a sudden weather change it had to be cancelled as it was too warm and slippery, and I really appreciate that animal welfare is a top priority in Finland. Huge respect for that! The company immediately offered me an Aurora photography tour instead, and I’m so glad I accepted. From the moment I arrived at the office, the experience was smooth and welcoming. A small tip: be patient the reception team is small, but the ladies working there are incredibly kind and helpful. They also provide warm clothing free of charge, which is amazing when you’re heading out into the cold. The tour itself was fantastic. I travelled in a warm, comfortable bus with two guides and a careful, friendly driver, while the photographers followed in a separate car with all their equipment. I was unbelievably lucky: the aurora was already waiting for me when we arrived! It appeared and disappeared throughout the evening, and my guide Gigi (and the rest of his lovely team forgive me, I’m terrible with names!) kept me informed, entertained, and well taken care of. The bus driver was amazing safe, knowledgeable, and even shared beautiful stories about auroras from different parts of Finland and beyond. The Nordic team prepared a cosy little BBQ: reindeer sausage with Finnish bread and mustard, hot blueberry juice, and marshmallows roasted over the fire with biscuits for dessert. Such a perfect touch! The photographers deserve a special shoutout. They worked in the freezing cold with bare hands to capture the best possible shots for everyone. Some people expected more from the lights, but nature isn’t predictable… and then the magic happened. On the way back, the aurora suddenly grew stronger. Without hesitation, the team pulled over in the middle of nowhere and we all jumped out to witness a full, dancing aurora across the cold night sky. Absolutely unforgettable. The energy, the care, the friendliness of the whole team everything was beyond wonderful. I can’t recommend this tour enough! 🌌

Beautiful experience, the best . Our guide Lia was very kind, both to us and especially to the children. The Husky owners are great and the tour was exciting for the whole family. In front of us a magnificent aurora is compared and Lia also took us to another vantage point to watch it. Best tour thank you very much

Honestly, this was my first time on a husky sled and it was SOOO coool! My wife and I went for our anniversary, and even tho it was freezing (like, toes-numb type of cold), the guides handed out warm boots and gloves. The dogs were super friendly—I was surprised how much they loved to run. The ride itself was maybe 20 mins, wish it was longer, but it felt special. Hot berry juice after was a nice touch, we shared stories by the fire and even got to pet the dogs. My only gripe: a bit crowded, but it didn’t ruin it for us. Pro tip: if you want a pic with the dogs, ask before the ride, they get hyper after.

Went with my cousin and her two kids. Kids LOVED the dogs, kept giggling the whole time. Was a bit chaotic at the start (sooo many people waiting), but once we actually got on the sled, it was magical. No northern lights that night (bummer!) but the scenery was stunning. Guides were friendly, but hard to hear over barking. Bring snacks for the wait, it took like 40 mins before we got going.

Was expecting more of a wild adventure, tbh. The ride was fun but felt a little rushed. Dogs seemed happy but we barely got any time with them after. Also, not much info shared about the dogs or the farm, which I would’ve liked. Pricey for what you get, but the sledding itself was pretty EPIC. Would maybe try a diff company next time.
  • This small-group experience combines the thrill of a husky-pulled sleigh ride with an expert-led Aurora hunt, making it the perfect Arctic adventure for couples, families, and night-sky enthusiasts.

    Getting started

Your evening begins with a convenient pick-up from the Santa Claus Holiday Village or the Nordic Unique Travels Office. You’ll meet your friendly English-speaking guide, who will help you suit up in warm overalls, boots, and gloves before heading into the crisp winter night.

    Husky sleigh ride

At the husky camp, you’ll be greeted by the sound of eager sled dogs ready for their nighttime run. After a short safety introduction, settle comfortably into your sled and enjoy a 5 km ride through snow-covered forests and open plains. The rhythmic padding of the huskies’ paws and the hush of the snow create a truly magical atmosphere beneath the stars.

    Aurora hunting

After your sleigh ride, warm up with a steaming cup of hot blueberry juice while your guide checks real-time Aurora forecasts. You’ll then travel by car to a secluded forest clearing or lakeside spot, chosen for its dark skies and panoramic views. Here, you’ll learn how to photograph the Northern Lights and, if the weather is kind, watch the sky dance in shades of green and violet.

    A cozy, guided Arctic experience

Throughout the evening, your professional guide shares stories about life in Lapland and offers tips for spotting the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora. With small-group comfort, included winter gear, and seamless round-trip transfers, this 3.5-hour adventure blends excitement and serenity in equal measure, an ideal way to experience the beauty of the Arctic night.
