Went with my sister and honestly wasn’t expecting to like the walking tour so much? Our guide (I think his name was Mike?) had SOOO many random facts about the area, like why there’s so many crab signs everywhere. Didn’t realize how much history was packed into just these few blocks. The pacing was chill, never felt lost in a big crowd. Alcatraz was the highlight, but the wharf walk made the whole day make sense. Bring a light jacket, it gets windy by the water. Def worth it if u wanna do more than just the basic Alcatraz ferry.

Really solid afternoon. We were a group of 4 (all adults) and enjoyed it a lot. Guide was funny, even made the fish market part interesting (I hate fish). Only downside: a bit too crowded at some stops, esp. the pier with the sea lions. Still, learned a ton and got great tips for cheap eats. Alcatraz itself was wild (audio tour = A+). Would go again with family.

SUPER cool to see the wharf and Alcatraz in one go. Our guide knew like, every building’s backstory. Walked with my partner—both big history nerds—so this was right up our alley. Ferry was a bit late but not the tour’s fault. Audio guide on Alcatraz is honestly one of the best I’ve ever used. Take snacks, the lines at the island cafe are longggg.

It was ok, not exactly thrilling but decent way to see the area. Walking tour started on time but dragged a bit in the middle. Guide repeated himself a lot. Alcatraz was cool, but I felt rushed at the end since the last ferry back was earlier than I thought. Maybe better for first-time visitors.
