The kids and I had a great time panning for gold and touring the underground mine. Loved the wagon wheel factory, the belt systems were amazing to see, a reminder of how much things have changed. Highly recommend.

Sovereign Hill is a great day out for the whole family. There is lots to see and do such as panning for gold, watching a wheel being made, going down into a mine, watching lollies being made, seeing the authentic buildings, characters and displays from the 1850s, and so much more. We went on a weekday in September and apart from a few school groups it was fairly quiet which made it easy to make your way around the town and get to all of the events. There are a few different food options available and some unique items and souvenirs you can buy. It's a full day so make sure you are there early to ensure you can go to all of the activities that are scheduled throughout the day.
