If you want to see the Catacombs, try to book from the official Catacombs website first. You would only use a service like Headout if the official website had no more tickets. You pay more for Headout (and other 3rd party vendors), but it serves a purpose if you want a ticket. Secondly, and this is important, we booked a catacombs tour along with a Siene River Cruise tour (in the same booking). You have to get your OWN transportation to the Siene! And when it says "meeting place", no one is there to meet you. Which is fine, but it would have been nice to know that no one is showing up to the "meeting place".

This morning we stepped away from the bustling streets of Paris and descended deep into the Catacombs an experience unlike any other we have ever known. As we wound down the cool stone staircases, the noise of the city faded away, replaced by a quiet, reverent stillness. Walking past miles of carefully arranged bones and skulls was not simply spooky tourism; it was a humbling journey through Paris’s forgotten history. Every narrow corridor felt alive with stories, a powerful reminder of life, loss and memory hidden right beneath the city we were exploring above. Slowly moving through the tunnels, we felt completely transported awestruck, sombre and utterly captivated. Booking ahead was essential, and every single step was worth it. This wasn’t just a visit it was the highlight of our Paris adventure so far, one that will stay etched in our minds forever.

The check-in process was very easy. There was a guide at the entrance who helped direct us where to go, and the signs were clear and easy to follow. Once inside, we were provided with headsets for the audio tour, which was one of my favorite parts of the experience. The headset used location services to automatically recognize where we were along the catacombs and provide information about each site as we passed it, so there was no need to manually enter anything. Overall, it was a great tour and a really enjoyable experience. I would definitely book with Headout again!

I've done it a few times and always recommend to people visiting Paris. It's truly a unique experience you can't get anywhere else. I typically order direct from catacombs and it's a bit pricier than booking seperatly but the catacombs were already full for the day so this was the best option. Tickets super easy to download and no issues getting in so I'd recommend it for people who need another option.

We hebben een fantastische ervaring gehad met Headout tijdens ons weekendje Parijs! 🇫🇷❤️ De Catacomben waren ontzettend indrukwekkend en bijzonder om met eigen ogen te zien. Well, it was a bit of a challenge at first as our tickets did not have the QR code, but it took one simple phone call to the third-party provider on our receipt to have them sent via WhatsApp and via email to us right away. We got into the event and are glad we made the choice to do so. It was very interesting and educational both for my daughter and myself.

We encourage anyone to take this subterranean tour provided it does not worry you to be deep down under the level of the city's sewers and metro tunnels. It feels like going to a different world and era. It's unimaginable to realize so many humans were exhumed from their graves and so methodically stacked within the miles of tunnels.

J'ai adoré les catacombes. C'était autant un incontournable que la tour Eiffel pour mon 1er voyage en Europe et à Paris inévitablement! Cela m'intriguait beaucoup . J' ai pris la visite avec l'audio guide qui m'a appris bien des choses et du coup avec sa musique par moment rendait l'expérience fascinante. Je recommande vivement!

What to bring

Comfortable shoes and warm clothing are recommended, as the Catacombs maintain a temperature of around 14°C (57°F) and the tunnels can be slippery.

Bring a valid photo ID matching the name on your booking if requested at the entrance.

What’s not allowed

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Suitcases, large bags, strollers, and motorcycle helmets are not allowed.

Smoking, drinking, and eating inside is strictly prohibited.

Strollers are not allowed at the venue; use a baby carrier.

Photography is allowed without the use of tripods or bulky equipment.

Pets are not allowed except for service animals.

Accessibility

The Catacombs are not accessible to wheelchair users or those with limited mobility due to numerous stairs (130 steps to enter, 112 steps to exit) and uneven surfaces.

The experience is not recommended for visitors with heart or respiratory conditions, or for those who may be uncomfortable in confined spaces.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
