Combo (Save 5%): San Diego Zoo + USS Midway Museum Tickets

This was my second visit to the San Diego Zoo. My first visit was many years ago, so my memory was not very clear, but this time I visited with my two young children (one almost 3 years old and the other 17 months), and the experience truly impressed me. The environment of the zoo is wonderful. The vegetation is extremely rich, the pathways are very well designed and easy to follow, and the staff members were warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. It felt very welcoming for families with small children. We originally planned to see the giant pandas, but the line was very long, so we decided not to wait. However, we noticed bamboo planted in many areas throughout the zoo, which made it feel like the zoo is thoughtfully preparing and caring for the pandas’ habitat and food supply. That attention to detail really stood out to me. I have visited other zoos before, where the smell could sometimes be quite strong, but the San Diego Zoo was surprisingly fresh and pleasant. It had rained before our visit, and with so much greenery around, the air felt clean and refreshing. Most importantly, my children absolutely loved it. They were excited, curious, and happy the entire time. It was a joyful and memorable experience for our family, and we truly appreciated how well-maintained and family-friendly the zoo is. We had a wonderful day and would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommended!

We were visiting from Ohio and toured the ship with our neices and nephew in grades K, 3, & 6 who live in Carlsbad. It was wonderful to see them engaging in the exhibits and being excited about the scavenger hunt activity provided. Thay especially loved climbing inside some of the planes and flipping switches in the control rooms. Our group of seven utilized the audio headsets to varying degrees, which was an ideal way to receive as much history and information as each participant wanted. We loved that it was self-paced and that there were an abundance of opportunities to talk with actual retired servicemen who were knowledgeable about the ship. Great opportunity to learn about military history in an impactful way!

I really enjoyed visiting the zoo. I'm originally from Dallas but I came down to visit family. One of the major things on our bucket list was the San Diego zoo. When we arrived, it did not disappoint. Admission was very quick and easy. The employees were extremely helpful with directions. The stores are kept nice and clean. My favorite part was the bus tour. I got the upper level and had an amazing view. Adding on, the captain of the bus was great at explaining each animal along with some cool facts.

As we bought the tickets we did not have to wait in line at the ticket window and we went straight through, it was a very nice experience to see different marine and terrestrial animals, that day there were many people but we were able to go through all the places and see the animals that caught our attention.

It was a very easy check in at the San Diego zoo using the head out app, no issues with pulling up tickets and love the no service feature in cases where signals are weak. Overall a good experience and will definitely use the head out app again for my next trip!
