At this time of year, it is not crowded and you can fully enjoy this beautiful archaeological site. No queues and plenty of opportunity to photograph beautiful corners. The highlight was the exhibition about women in Pompeii in the villa opposite the amphitheater. The sign was inconspicuous and we almost missed it.

The meeting point is really far from the main entrance. Once we arrived, it wasn't easy to find the right office, and we had to queue to get our tickets, even though we had already booked them. Last but not least, we had booked tickets with audio guides, but once we arrived, we were told that the audio guides we had booked had to be listened to on our cell phones via Wi-Fi, but that there was no Wi-Fi inside the excavations, so we would have to

I was told I needed a code to enter. I was looking for digits and tried calling - no answer - no help on the website - caused panic. As you are aware, a mobile phone is typically used to access tickets. The "code" should have been called "QR Code" on your instructures. The actual QR Code was so tiny that a few of us stuggled to find this so called "code". I believe you need to make it clear to locate the small "QR code" on the pdf would have made the task much easier. We barely made our scheduled time!

It took us 45 mins to gain entry through the correct gate. The gate allocated to us was the furthest away from the train station. Also not sure why you cannot enter through any gate and why you need to exchange your ticket(which is actually a voucher) for a paper ticket for entry. Train time are intermittent and on old shoddy trains.

The office where vouchers can be exchanged for tickets is just one minute away from the entrance to Pompeii. The only thing that is not clearly visible on the online portal is the indication that it is a voucher. So we went to the Pompeii entrance first and had to go back again.

Built 2,000 years ago... But how logical, functional, beautiful and cared for! The villas are perfectly integrated into the landscape, the windows offer magnificent views of the Neopolitan bay and mountains, socially significant buildings are striking in scale and proportions. Even drinking fountains (utilitarian in their purpose) are decorated with marble heads and arranged systematically and quite often! Aesthetics and harmony with nature amaze modern man, and how fantastic this city was 20 centuries ago .... I can't imagine!

The instructions on use of audio guide were unclear. The prompt I kept receiving was to pay an additional 4 euros to access the audio guide. After the tour, I reached out to the lady at the booth to notify her, I was practically screamed at and told all i had to do was add a code and i code still use it for another 45 mins. The lady was extermely rude and agressive which honestly was upsetting and shocking!

Pompeii overall is worth a visit, especially if you know Italy is far from you, historically and architecturally it is amazing, so still worth it in my opinion, the only problem was actually this ticket on headout, this 'ticket' is actually a voucher for a ticket, me and my sister had to walk about 30 minutes from Pompeii Scavi station where we were told to get off for a 'quick entrance', we were then correctly told my staff that we had to walk quite a long away to pick up the ticket with this voucher, Headout just failed to specify anywhere that we had to do that, as a result we lost a lot of time

The procedure, i.e. sending and collecting the tickets, went smoothly. Therefore 5 stars! However, a map is useful to find your way through the area. But you don't get this for free or for little money, you have to buy it together with a guidebook for €16.70. That's outrageous! That is outrageous! Therefore only 4 stars. We didn't buy the guidebook and map, but photographed them from someone else and then obtained the information online. Pompeii at the beginning of November is a dream. Warm, great light (we were there in the afternoon) and not crowded!!!

It is heavily impressive what this whole excavation site made accessible to us again, all these huge amounts of soil and lava ashes which had to get removed to find paintings, mosaics in housings, temples, public thermal pools and arenas. Such a rich and much modern culture compared to the dark middle age. Wish I would have seen this life once live. It puts imagination to next level!

We arrived at Pompeii on a Monday around 12pm and found it to be quite busy. Our pre-purchased tickets required us to check in at the tourist center which was unexpected and a bit confusing to find and set us back an hour from scheduled ticket time. With the help of a local ristorante owner we eventually found the location where we were bombarded with sales people who tried to sell us maps as well as a listening tour guide device, which needed to be returned before the park closed, or a QR code to listen on our own phones which did not cover much of the sites. I would recommend getting there as soon as the park opens to avoid an onslaught of guided tour buses. Also, which entry gate your ticket is for, plan ahead on where to park if you are driving there. Arrive and at least half an hour before your scheduled ticket time unless you already know where to go to get your tickets printed for entry. There are three entrances to the park and you really need to know which one your ticket is for. As for Hurculaneum, I found this to be a more intimate and relaxed experience. It is a far better preserved site with more mosaics and frescoes, far fewer people and felt far less hurried. All in all an experience not to be missed. In both Pompeii and Herculaneum we were approached by private tour guides inside the park for an added cost but chose not use them. Viewing the human remains in both parks felt invasive on a very personal level and I chose not photograph them out of respect.

Everything worked well with the tickets. You receive a WhatsApp and a Mail with all information required. You'll find the ticket corner on the public square where the coordonates lead to. No queue, but it was end of september. There's another entrance just next to the ticket corner. Digital audio guide can be downloaded as soon as you receive the WhatsApp/E-Mail, no online data required once you downloaded it. Everythibg worked perfectely, but we rate with only 4 stars because the audio guide is quite on a low level. Lots of missing buildings/locations and the content is not that helpful, especially if you dont just want a rough overview and you would like to get more detailed information in any direction it's not sufficient. I'd recommend to inform yourself upfront and also make a plan what you want to see. Guess I will buy a dedicated book to read more about it once I'm back home. We spent about 7 hours in Pompeij and we can recommend the Pompeij Plus to visit also the Mistery Villa e.g. Definetely worth visiting Pompeij, but not all visitoers show the required respect for this place - toiching paintings and leaning on painted walls. Sone places would need to be protected better against those people as it obviously doesn't work right now. Enjoy your visit and respect what they made visible for you!

A beautiful day in Pompeii. Thanks to the ticket, we didn't have to wait and got in easily. However, the audio guide offered by the agency was a big disappointment. 10 euros (we took 2 for 4) for the phone or physical version, but : - for the physical version, you have to bring it back to the store before 5:30 p.m. (inconvenient as they're not near the circumvesuviana station) - for the phone version: impossible to use because there's no mobile network on the Pompei site. The best thing would have been to offer wifi in the agency and a system for downloading audio tapes, given the mediocrity of the network coverage! And 2 additional points: - I wanted to listen to the audio guide when I got back on the train at the end of the day: impossible, as the codes I was given had been deactivated after 7pm. - as we were leaving, we realized that physical audioguides were available on site for 9 euros, which could be returned at the exit until closing time. So we were delighted with our day in Pompeii, but we had a bitter taste for the audioguide story, which made us feel we'd been cheated out of 20 euros...

Pompei was great and vast ... a real experience to be there and get the sense of the place, its scale and its history! However locating where to collect tickets from considerably delayed our entry. Had this been clearer on the ticket instructions that would have been really helpful. Having also paid for access to 'extras', it was not clear, once inside what and where these were and so we did not benefit from the special access. There was so much to see and it would be great to know more about all/more of the properties, their uses and the people who lived and worked in them - a massive task of course, I appreciate that and it may be that it is work in progress!! Getting cuaght up in/nearly trampled by many of the guided tour groups was also rather difficult to avoid. Favourite bit was Region three and seeing the work being done to uncover and explore new areas - that was absolutely fascinating and actually felt like a really privileged sneak preview!!

We didn't like the fact that people urinated in many corners, once even worse. But we weren't surprised when we had to search for a toilet for almost twenty minutes because they were very poorly signposted and then the street and therefore the one toilet was closed. We didn't like the fact that the street names didn't appear on the map or only appeared to a limited extent, which in turn made it difficult to find our way around. We didn't like the fact that the closed entrances/sights were not marked on the map, which exacerbated all the problems mentioned above. It was very confusing overall.

When we arrived at the address listed in the app, we found the tour agency office closed. At the entrance, the security guard directed us to another branch of the agency, about 100 meters away. There, we were not given tickets but purchased a guidebook, and were then directed to yet another branch of the agency, another 50 meters further, where our tickets were finally waiting for us. After that, we entered the park and everything went well. Of course, this process was a bit confusing and not exactly “fast,” as running between the agency offices and figuring out where to get the tickets took some time. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Pompeii was great - my teenager loved seeing such an amazing world-renowned attraction. The plaster casts at the GARDEN OF THE FUGITIVES were the best. We managed fine without a tour guide, but obviously didnt learn any interesting facts along the way. Picking up the tickets was a little frustrating - The HEADOUT kiosk wasnt very obvious, and the pin from the map address wasnt correct so we were bumped from point to point around the plaza, but all within the same general location (50m) so we got there in the end - it just took a little time.

Extremely nasty and rude man at front gate. We went to the given address as bought tickets online - instructions state to see staff member to get tickets at the entrance, so we went through the entrance, lined up and asked the man who was a staff member scanning the line for people paying with cash - we showed him our tickets and asked if we needed to line up - we were very polite and pleasant throughout. We bought the tickets online for 25€, then went into a building where we were first told that the internet was down in Pompeii. There is a blocker in the building we were standing in, which makes you think it really is. So we took out the QR code and connected to the Wi-Fi to show the booked tickets -> vouchers. Then you get the cheapest ticket (19€) that you would pay directly at the entrance to Pompeii. We were also very STRONGLY advised to buy a city map with a book or an audio guide. I paid 9 euros extra for each of two tickets to get a "skip the line ", tour. We initially started about 5 minutes late and were then placed " in line " behind numerous groups. was really disappointed with this tour of Pompeii. The whole experience felt very rushed. After just two hours, the guide ended the tour and we were asked to leave the site. I had assumed that after the guided portion we would be able to stay longer to explore on our own, but that wasn’t the case. Because of this, I didn’t get to see the whole place or truly appreciate the history and atmosphere of Pompeii. Overall, I left feeling unsatisfied and like I missed out on what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

On leaving Pompei scavi we went down to the right to the physical ticket collection point next to Pompeii's lower gate. Remember to download the audio guide at home or to have WIFI access before going to Pompeii. Of course, the site is incredible: don't hesitate to buy the ticket with the visit to the villas, as it's well worth it! We were also able to visit the excavations that are currently underway by walking across the site on a footbridge. You can see everything from above, which is great 👍
