Memorable memories, and a great way to share them as a family. Our son plans to do his next presentation at school. The preservation of the site is top-notch, and the audioguides, also tested by my 7-year-old daughter who knew how to use them perfectly, made her visit very interesting. Beautiful view from the towers. It's a pity there aren't more fast-food outlets for water and sandwiches, as the tour is long. There wasn't just one outlet and we didn't want to wait more than 1 hour. So we skipped lunch. It's a pity it's not possible to reserve parking in advance (like for Vesuvius), which would avoid the €30 scams.

Arrangements work very smoothly. Pompei awesome. Make sure you take water with you as it's a bit site and when we were there only one cafe was open.

Being able to wander around the ruins and get close to the remains of frescoes and mosaics. The fact that you can wander freely in the ruins means you're more immersed, which makes for a fascinating experience.

There are only a few signs within Pompei, which makes it difficult to find your way around. In addition, some houses and corridors were closed. We had to walk back a lot and take detours. The area to Villa Misteri costs extra, although we already paid over €20 per person. The audio guide is a cell phone with a map and location (if it works), but without headphones. This could have been written somewhere beforehand. So we had to listen to the long information as if we were talking on the phone, which can be exhausting with so many people. The amphitheater and the exhibitions in the palace and below the store were nice.

The train from Naples was packed with people - standing room only. I bought the tickets as we rode the train, because I thought we would avoid waiting in line. When we arrived, first we had to wait in line to redeem the tickets; second, the online version was a bit more expensive than the tickets at the gate.
It all turned out okay, but it would help at least if you would make it clear that your are charging a bit more for the online version.
We were otherwise happy with the whole experience - it was just a minor annoyance.
Thanks - Jack
PS - Your choices in this questionnaire do not give us the correct choice (online version more expensive). And then this section is titled "What did you love about your experience?" - We know you want positive reviews, but if you want real reviews, then maybe rethink this rating questionnaire. :)

I was told any wired headset would work. This was not true. And the volume was far too soft.
Additionally the signage was not sufficient to actually find certain areas I was searching for. Pompeii is incredible...the site and labeling is NOT user friendly.

It was very interesting, it fulfilled my expectations, you walk a lot.
Ideal for other visitors to hire a guide, the place is very big and the guide is not very helpful.

It looked amazing and it was astonishing how mich could get recovered. It's a huge area, so we we're sorry, that we didn't bring enough time sith us. If you want discover the most you need minimum three hours.

Simple and practical, the reservation allowed us to avoid groups of tourists at the entrance to the park.
Discovering the ruins was fantastic

The ancient ruined city is huge and totally impressive. The colors of the frescoes in the Villa dei Misteri are really well preserved (rosso pompeiano). I mapped out a route before the visit - you can't "walk" everything in one day.

Not so much as skip the line as still had to que for tickets. Could have just bought them there and then. I thought tickets would be sent electronically.

The train journey to Naples is not well signposted, and the train is overcrowded.
On site, there was no clear map of the site, nor a minimum of explanation of the neighborhoods and circulation within the site (e.g. access to the antiquarium was poorly indicated). It's easy to miss some interesting spots. Some areas are one-way, but they're not easy to identify beforehand, so you can anticipate the route (especially around the amphitheatre and the exhibition).
But the site remains exceptional and very well maintained.

It is very good the audio guide service , very practical and complete , I recommend to do it at the time of each and devote time to what most attracts them . The best parts are the oranges and violet, but the whole town is worth it. It takes about 4 hours more or less to go through the whole town.

The organization is a bit complex. Although you get the tickets online, you have to wait in line, as if you bought them at the box office to get them in paper format.
Communication by public transport is chaotic. It seems unbelievable that being a World Heritage Site it takes almost an hour for the trains to arrive. The platforms and carriages are overcrowded.
Otherwise, the audio guide was very useful and Pompeii was impressive.

The children's audio guide seemed well done. My 6-year-old son enjoyed listening to it. Too bad you can't book online.

The audio guide was a cell phone. You had to hand in your ID for this. The audio quality was okay, but you had to hold the cell phone to your ear the whole time as there were no headphones.
The cell phone also showed you your location and a map of the Pompeii ruins, which was very useful.

Seeing Pompeii was a fascinating experience, but this portal does not really save you the queue, because you do not buy the tickets, but only have a reservation code, so at the entrance you have to wait in line to redeem the tickets at the counter. Almost half an hour we were there waiting. There was another access without queues for people who already had the tickets, I don't know how they would get them.

+Very nice complex.
-Unfortunately only 1 restaurant option, which was of course overcrowded.
-Toilet cubicles as far as we visited not lockable, no soap.
