Having visited Pompeii a few days before we decided to do without a guide this time and just explore Herculaneum ourselves. It was so much more peaceful than Pompeii and the completeness of the buildings is amazing. You can really see what a beautiful place it would have been to live. We really enjoyed our visit here. Prebooking the ticket meant we just strolled straight in, which was great.

The sight itself is stunning!
However, I planned to buy a ticket to Pompeji online, but I was not able to do that. I had to buy a voucher and once there I was supposed to queue up and exchange the voucher for a ticket. Why?

These tickets were a dream. I bought them online the night before, the tickets allowed us to enter Herculaneum at any point during the day. We arrived around 11.30am and we were straight through, no queues or waiting.
I loved Herculaneum, it's so well preserved and is much smaller than Pompeii so is not as overwhelming.
It is at the bottom of a hill so please be aware if you need to get back to the train station for a set time, it's quite a walk!

It was an incredibly beautiful day. Admission was uncomplicated and quick. There are several toilets and the small museum is great.

Visiting Pompeii was a fantastic experience! Everything went smoothly, though, as expected, it was quite crowded with tourists. However, the journey from Naples was memorable – the train ride was made special by an accordionist playing traditional Italian music, and the passengers clapping along. I’m not sure if this happens all the time, but it added a lovely touch to the trip. Naples itself is vibrant, with delicious food and plenty to see. Pompeii is a treasure trove of history, offering stunning sights perfect for photos and an incredible opportunity to learn about the past. Highly recommended!

Herculaneum is a place that makes an impression and stimulates the imagination. Not so long ago, all these buildings were located several meters underground. Today, they allow us to see with our own eyes what this ancient city really looked like. Most of the buildings presented here have been preserved in such good condition that walking the streets of Herculaneum, you can feel like you are in a real city where life still goes on. I will remember my time spent in Herculaneum for a very long time. Buying tickets via Headout allowed direct entry to the archaeological park.

Pompeii was great and was good to have tickets in advance, though still had to queue to redeem. We opt out for tickets without the guide as we like to go at our own pace, but one day was not enough for us to see everything, and maybe next time we get the guide as well to learn more. Visit to archaeology museum is a must as well as many frescoes are on display there.

The best sightseeing with phenomenal insights into the life of the ancient Romans. Hidden under several meters of volcanic ash and lava, Hercaluneum was excavated. It was even closer to the volcanic eruption that engulfed Pompeii. Here you are allowed closer to the excavation and the site is not very extensive. Nevertheless, the frescoes and mosaics are more beautiful than in Pompeii. Nevertheless, a visit to Pompeii is also very interesting. The cost is around 14 euros for adults.

The site of Pompeï and Herculaneum were impressive and a must do when you visit Naples or like us, Rome. You really get the feeling when you walk around, what it would be like to live in that time and with the Vesuvius constant in your sight... it is just horrifiyng to imagine what happend almost 2000 years ago

Herculaneum is, as everyone told us, wonderful. Pompeii is so big and busy that it's quite tiring. But it was well worth it. We are from the UK and we have Roman remains at home, but nothing like this. Herculaneum is easy to access and the antiquarium is great. There are places to sit and just take it all in, whereas Pompeii is more full-on. The tickets worked well.

The history of this place is impressive, and I learned many more details and being there is an unforgettable experience because we could admire the greatness of the city that was and how they lived.

In just one day it is impossible to see everything, they should open more spaces that are ready to see, but are closed.

The experience has been very positive, perhaps a little confusing when exchanging the tickets and the audio guide at two different points although they were very close to each other.

Entering the ruins with the on-line purchased tickets was quick, easy, and smooth.
Ruins were awesome, as they were on our first visit in 2017.

The experience is worthy of having had it, simply as help for others, I have to say that the audio guide terminal should be positioned in real time to be able to guide you at all times, which does not happen.
