The sights were fine. Finding the first pickup venue was difficult on the map we had and the app did not help. Bus schedules did not allow for swapping between the three routes we only managed two routes. Audio was fine until the team on the bus started calling out stops. But it did allow us to orrintate where venues were to return and visit

We visited on a cultural holiday which meant the buses were particularly crowded. This resulted in participants not being able to board and having to wait for the next bus, often 35-45 minutes. The staff worked hard to accomodate everyone, but the number of participants far exceeded seat availability. The main pick up and transfer point was not well located with the street being a wind tunnel and not many options for restaurants, shopping, etc while waiting for buses.

The hotel we were in had no info about your company. We googeld and hoped for the best. The online map with the stations is hard to read. We coukd not find a bus stop near our hotel in rappongi. Why not a stop at rarappongi hills? Only at the bus did we get a paper map that made more sense. The people (guides) were kind and caring. The audioguide has a boring monologue voice. Awful to listen to after a while... Not very easy to understand most stories!

The combo ticket was absolute value for money. We started with the red route, the joined the blue route and we got off at the Tower and then after the tower visit rejoined the blue route and then finished off with the green route which took in the lights of Tokyo we got off at Shibuya to see the famous Shibuya Crossing and then caught a train home we had a brilliant day.

Great way yo get an overview of the city. You could quite easily combine all 3 routes, without hopping off, however, that would defeat the purpose. I found it interesting to walk between 2 stops as it allows you to also see & experience the city from ground level. Recommend for first time visitors or those with limited time.

I had a fantastic experience at the Tokyo Tower. It is really easy to find and navigate to it. It is near a metro entrance so its maybe a 5 minute walk from it. The Tokyo Tower has a shopping center in it and a lot of entertainment stations. The tower itself is staffed with the most approachable staff I ever met. They were so nice and polite which really goes with the whole Tokyo vibe. They were all in theme, thye dressed in some reeeally fashionable costumes. I was a little bit jealous because they looked a lot better then me and I put a lot of work into my clothes. The view from the Tokyo Tower is really impressive and to my surprise it wasn't very crowded like the Tokyo skytree is. I enjoyed that part the most because there were no long lines and pushing with other guest to take a photo. Im sad that i didnt get the ticket for the upper observatorium but hey, thats a reason to go visit Tokyo Tower again when a come visiting next year.

I did all three tours and I absolutely enjoyed it. I didn't hopp off at all because it was my last day in Tokyo and I had time before my flight so I just rode the bus. Staff was very friendly. Busses were on time. I really saw a lot of Tokyo! And I saw places that I wouldn't have without the bus. Thank you to the staff and the bus drivers!! I had a great time

The phone-based audio guide on the green route is terrible and takes away a lot from the experience of viewing things. Also, the autorun feature did not work at all - tried 3 times - it keeps playing music. The other 2 routes were good but the green (with the phone-based audio guide) was not worth going on.

The different courses were OK, but in practice it was difficult to hop off when hopping on the next bus would take much more than one hour. The locations of the stops were difficult to find: The signs were small and almost invisible. It is more effective to use a big red flag or something else highly visible to indicate the location of a bus stop ( than an small, obscure little sign post).

Headout is very useful, having the phone number to ask any questions is great. The route we took wes lovely. I thought we had booked a 24 hour pass, it's a One day pass, be careful, they are different! 😅 Also I think it would really help to add information on the route planner about near by underground connections. We found this difficult to navigate and unfortunately our phone assistant couldn't answer that question. I would, however recommend HOHO as a great way to get a sense of Tokyo. Thank you!

The staff were lovely and helpful. I would recommend starting with the red line from the first stop near Tokyo station. I started at stop number 4 on green line, which wasted about 2 hrs of the day because bus didn't arrive there till just before 10am and took an hour to get to main station with not much of interest on the way.

We purchased our tickets online and had to select a day that had available tickets, we wanted two days but could only get 1 day as that was what it was showing. The advertising also said, people with tickets are given priority. People were getting on the crowded buses and buying tickets and two-day tickets even though we couldn’t online. Several stops, people missed out of getting onto the bus. It was that bad, we didn’t want to get off just in case we could not get back on. One of the buses (Double decker with several rows upstairs covered) had zero leg room. My knees and everyone else around us were squashed. It was so uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hop on hop off service. We found another one, but too late and wish we had of gone on that one.

Going up to the Tokyo Tower was spectacular.The view of the city from above is scenic and grand 360 degrees look out.I thought my ticket was not valid because I signed up for April 01,2025 experience.Luckily,the ticket was flexible with a validity date of until May 23,2025..In a day,I completed the red,blue and green line loops,including my visit at the Tokyo Tower.The weather was good,although a bit windy crossing the bridge for the blue line,but it was an enjoyment.

Look at weather B4 you go and plan accordingly!! Our first bus was inside and heated. The second bus was wide open. It rained HEAVILY, WINDY and it was FREEZING COLD! Third bus offered a little protection all the way up front but only for the first 2 rows. Same as second bus. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Time schedule was fairly accurate however we never really get off the bus to check things out until the second day. Highly recommend.

It was nice looking around Tokyo without having to walk a lot but the wait in between buses is WAY too long. There were people who waited in long lines only to be told that the bus was full and they had to wait for the next one in an hour. It is a huge waste of time for people who are only visiting for the day. Seeing how many people want to use this service you'd expect a lot more buses with much more regular availability.

It was a bus ride around parts of Tokyo. Unfortunately, there was no inside seating on the buses during the very chilling ride. The verbal information was interrupted at times midway through sentences. The tour guide on the bus was talking at the same time as the recorded guide thus making it difficult to hear what either party was saying. Couldn't really appreciate what we were seeing during the tour.

The experience wasn't worth it at all, we were a group of 5 people, we spent about an hour waiting for the bus and it said it was available with few people and when it arrived we only had room for 4 and not for everyone. And the next one took about 2 hours. We bought tickets for 2 days and made only 2 journeys, and even then we didn't get off where we wanted. There are few buses on each line and it takes ages to get through. It's better to walk or take the metro or a normal bus. It's not worth the money.

Because all the buses were full, so we had to travel 8km by train to get to a HOHO station, which asked us for a lift. And I am severely disabled and that was expected of me. We did all 3 courses. The first one (green) wasn't an open deck bus. It was a regular charter bus. At some point, it got full and they started seating guests in the middle seats. They looked very uncomfortable and couldn't see anything outside. Moreover, some passengers couldn't on-board due to lack of availability seats. Overheard that those busses are always full. It wasn't really " hop on and off." You have to stay in the line for a long time to make sure you'll be allowed to come on board. Also, many people didn't know that they had to use their own phones to listen to the audio guide, using QR code. Service people never mentioned that to anyone, nor wifi password available. Our second course was red which is their major one. This time it was an open deck bus, but it was lightly raining and very windy, so it was freezing. The third one was blue. As it was raining, they put a roof over the deck. So, the visibility wasn't the best, but it was warm inside. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this service because of their lack of communication and accommodation ability.

Will NOT recommend this mode of tourism in Tokyo. Too few buses. Too infrequent. Too many tickets must be have been sold. Left stranded with 20 other people at a stop far from Tokyo central and had to pay a y33000 taxi fare to return to catch another bus. The tour was not a hop on and hop off tour, but rather a city tour by bus. You couldn't get off at the most interesting points because there was no stop or the bus simply didn't stop. We knew this from other cities - most recently from London - much better organized and carried out. After the disappointing tour, we went to some of the sights on foot or by cab. You can give this tour a miss.

This is not a good deal for the cost versus what you can do. We started out early in the morning and took the first bus and went to one stop and then we went to get the bus again in the afternoon. It was already the end of the day for the trip. There's only about one bus every hour And you can actually see all the places you want to see on the map. Disappointed – Not Worth the Price for a 1-Day Pass We’ve used hop-on hop-off buses in other cities and had great experiences, but unfortunately, the Tokyo version didn’t live up to expectations. The routes had huge gaps between pick-up times, making it very inefficient for exploring the city on a 1-day pass. We ended up only taking the bus for a short ride from the initial pick-up to our first stop—and then had to rely on taxis and Ubers to get around the rest of the day. For the $100 we paid, it was a poor value. Definitely not recommended if you're trying to make the most of a short visit to Tokyo.

I first tried to access the Green sevice from outside the designated hotel in Shinjuku. As I could not find any sites outside indicating where the bus stopped, I took a taxk to the hub at Marunouchi Mitsubishi Building thinking it would be better. When we arrived we could not find the starting point there either. I did spot one of the buses parked and tried to ask the driver but 1. He would not open the door to speak to me and 2. he appeared not to speak any English but made wild gesticulations up in the air. After that we gave up, had a drink and then returned to Shunjuku. We therefore wasted most of one day and over A$150 for the bus booking plus the return taxi fares to Shinjuku. An absolute disaster. There needs to be more specific details of the boarding points and some sort of street signs indicating the where the bus stops. Also, staff operating these buses need some basic English or French or another language other than Japanese. As a European and a speaker of Cantonse and Mandarin, I do know how difficult it is to learn non-romanised languages. We did enjoy the rest of our week in Tokyo but were disappointed not to get an overall picture of the city which we would have, if we had been able to travel on the three services you offer.

I accidentally purchased tickets for Tokyo while I was in Kyoto. The Kyoto agent reassured me that I would receive a full refund if I purchased new Kyoto tickets. For me it was not a good experience, I thought that the bus passed every hour by the different stops and one could stop at each place for a while to enjoy the places and that at the end we could stop where we were picked up but it was not like that they picked me up at stop 3 and I got off at 5 when I got back on to enjoy the other stops they tell me that it was over and I had to take a taxi from there to the main stop that cost me $ 25 I do not think it was the best, in other countries where I have done the same they are constantly going around until the time they leave and one has time to get to the stop where you left, sorry but it was not the best experience.

I’ve been to many countries and used hop-on hop-off buses, but I’ve never seen worse services and organization than in Tokyo, even though the country—and especially this city—is spectacular. First of all, I bought tickets online for April 24. The first payment didn’t go through, but the second one did. However, the tickets I received were for April 25. We were leaving in the afternoon on the 25th, so the tickets were of little use. I immediately contacted them both by email and through their “manage your booking” online form, but no one has replied to me to this day. Then, on the morning of April 25, we spent 2 hours trying to find the location in Akihabara (which is extremely poorly marked in their app, and their staff are very disorganized). When we finally found the station, a regular bus arrived on the red line—not a double-decker as hop-on hop-off buses usually are. Inside was an employee who looked to be around 80 years old (I’m not exaggerating), and those who have been there can confirm this. The lady talked nonstop into the microphone, repeating the same phrases three times, so of course we couldn’t hear anything from the audio guide about the places we were passing. Since we couldn’t enjoy anything, we got off at the second stop and switched to a bus on the green line. There, we encountered a very rude and arrogant young man—the opposite of how Japanese people typically are. I forgot to mention that we weren’t given any headphones on either bus. I had to get off and ask for them, and when I said I needed three pairs (since we were traveling with a 13-year-old child), they reluctantly gave me the third pair. We got off after a few stops because we had a plane to catch. Terrible experience, poor service. I do not recommend the hop-on hop-off in this city. Think twice before buying tickets.

We read the instructions at the venue which stated that the bus would pull around through the alley and stop at the sign. It stopped at the street instead. Late. Then even though we were there first, by the time we made it to the road we were told that there was no room on the bus and we should walk to the next stop. After waiting up to 25 minutes for a bus we were told that there was not enough room and we would have to wait for the next one. As a result there were unhappy people in the queues and the guides checking tickets were very stressed and spent a lot of time apologising. Day one that we were supposed to use our tickets it was raining, and there was ONLY a top deck (no seats on bottom??) and the guide basically told us it would be miserable and that we shouldn't get on. The next day, we got on the bus around 12pm, the bus made 3-4 stops, then dropped us all at G1 (45 minutes from our hotel). We asked and said we thought it was shooosed to be a full loop that we could hop on and off, and she said no, we all had to get off there. We asked if there was another bus coming, and we were told no (or at least no more green line running). This was at 2:30pm. The website says buses go until 7? So then we had to get a $50 taxi back to our hotel because we were dropped so far from where we started. The website advertised it was loops that we could hop on and off, but we never even made it a full loop. The website also says that buses run through early evening, and we were told to get off at 2:30pm. Not a lot. We have used the same service in many cities around the world and sadly this was there poorest. Our maps on line and paper copies has the bus stops, but no address or street names so they were unclear. We spent the first day wasted as we could not find our stop and the time table was just inadequate. The times printed differed to reality. There was a lot of confusion between the guides running the busses as to which colour bus was which. At one stage we were going to be stranded at the Mitsubishi Building as they said the service had stopped even though the times printed said there would be a bus. Hats off to two people who put a bus on to get about 8 of us back to where we were staying. However today, our second day, a male middle aged guide was shouting at a customer then aggressively dressing down/arguing with a lovely young female guide, in front of us all. Shame on him and shame for Japan whose people are so lovely and polite. For the mess up yesterday we are requesting a refund for 1 day for 4 people in our group.

It was a very rainy, cold day. We thought it would be perfect for a bus tour. The bus that picked us up did not have any indoor seats, only the open top. When we entered the bus, we were rushed upstairs in the pouring, freezing rain without being given a rain cover for our bodies. We didn't want to sit on the seats because they were soaking wet. The guide person did not come upstairs immediately and the bus started to move. We were with my 80 year old father and 74 year old mother. We were holding on to them so they wouldn't fall. We put the rain covers on them while the bus was moving and we were getting soaked. The guide should have let us stayed on the covered part of the bus by the door even if it was just to put the rain cover on our Body. Next, the company should not have buses without covered seats operating on rainy cold days period. The experience was not worth the money we spent and I would not recommend it. I stayed 7 days at the Hotel Century Southern Tower in Tokyo and purchased two 2-Day Passes. Unfortunately when asked, the front desk staff of our hotel gave us very poor directions by saying the nearest HOHO stop to take was at the Shinjuku Mall Entrance. Which it was not. After wasting a half day searching and asking strangers, we went back to the hotel to call the HOHO phone number for help on the location. The customer service Rep at the Hop On telephone line could not tell me, describe to me or email a useful mayp or diagran of where the location of the cloesest Pick-Up stop was. After deciding that buying the tickets and to take a cab to our destinations. It was by the strock of luck that I ask a Taxi Cab driver if they know where the stop was. A surprisingly they did and took to the exact location of the bus stop at the stop in front of the street level convience store adjacent to the Hotel Bus Drop Off spot! Be train you staff better, give them clear and specific photos of the spot, or just something useful to share for stop location clarity! Not just a HOHO map of the city...

If you have been on a HOHO bus anywhere else in the world this will be a disappointment- the buses do not continually loop, we did an entire loop on one line to plan where to get off the next time round only to be told that route would not be repeated for another 90mins due to the driver needing a break, thus making it a useless ticket, the commentary on the red line was woeful, the green line was better but the information would be randomly just cut off to announce bus stops but not return to the commentary. The hosts were lovely and added value. However, it's not really a hop on/off. There are long gaps between drop off and pick up. The 3 routes only intersect at one point. If you want to get off and check out a stop, you might wait a long time before the next bus. To be fair it was cold and wet when we did it, the buses only have seating up stairs and they are open air buses. They are able to cover the top section, but don't when it's wet. This limited options even further. If a bus is full you wait another 1.5 hrs until the next one. We would have liked to stay on and go around again, but they are not continuous. The commentary was good though. If the weather had been nicer, we would have had a better day.

This purchase and experience was a total waste of money. We embarked at the earliest time at our nearest stop. We did not get off until the route change location where we had to wait in the middle of nowhere for an hour for the next bus on another route. We finally disembarked at the 1st stop to see an attraction and got back on the next available bus that was TWO hours later. We decided with the schedule we were best just to take the next bus on our route and return home and cut our losses (we had intended to ride to the route change location and switch to the 3rd route and just ride the loop, taking a train home as all bus service would end) only to find the bus was ending its route and we would have to disembark at the route change location and wait another 35 minutes just to get home. All this after only seeing one attraction. We ended up paying to take the train back. Thoroughly disappointing. There should be more busses on the schedule so people are not spending all day just waiting at bus stops with nothing around. We could have just taken the train to the attraction for 5% of the cost. Also one of the bus 'guides' was very unwelcoming and made us feel like our questions were a burden to him and he was just going through the motions. I would like a refund for the 4 tickets I bought. My husband and I travel a lot and do HOHO in most major cities. The schedule and lineups can always be a challenge but Tokyo was the WORST and I will not recommend it to anybody and will post public reviews to this effect wherever I can, including Trip Advisor and Google.

Additionally, the duration of the audio playback between points of the route was interrupted or directly cut off when the bus arrived at the next point of the route, which prevented receiving the content provided by your organization. Ticketing was very easy. We just looked on Google Maps hop on off stations. Then we went at the nearest one, look for the sign with schwduale, wait for the bus and activate the reservation. Very organized and on time. Tokio is huge so it was perfect to do the 3 lines all day long with the hearing guide in order to get a general View for the First day visit.

Great experience! Was a little nervous on timing based on other reviews, but I thought the time offered to visit the different stops was perfect. I mapped out where I wanted to get off the bus, and was able to complete all three lines in one day, with several stops. The assistants who helped announce the stops and check the tickets were super helpful, making sure everyone knew the next bus time, where to get off, etc. Would highly recommend, especially if you're trying to see a lot on a time crunch. Commentary was good and perfect English!

I should have read the reviews before booking because this has been an ongoing problem. The link to meeting points has no addresses, just names. I was supposed to meet at "Shibya City Hall". The problem is there is no such thing. There is a Shibya City Office, and when I called the support line that is where they emailed me to go. The problem is that building has no place for a bus to pick someone up. The whole thing was shlock. I demanded my money back but they did not give it. Run from this vendor.

Terrible experience I spent so much time waiting for the bus and then another one... I took the first bus I could find at 10am and was only able to do 1 activity because the buses are so spread out in time.... I was not even able to take all the lines. 11.25am RedTour 1st November. Using her mike the on board guide spoke in Jinglish continually all over the audio guide creating an unpleasant ear bashing and we couldnt hear the audio guide. Being a fully enclosed glass roof, the AC was set too high and we coundnt wait to get off the stifling bus.

We would never recommend this to others (especially for the price). While the staff were friendly when we got on at the first stop ... we could never find other stops so the ticket was useless! If you plan to hop off at one stop and walk to another you will lose the ability to get back on. We spent ages walking back and forth in a couole of areas only to eventually watch the bus drive by, and we are still don't know where the stops are. When the bus only comes by at best every hour and stops running at about 6pm if you miss it you have no chance to catch up the time. We tried the app and the paper map and putting information into google maps with no luck. We have done similar tours in other cities where it was easy to find the bus and there were lots running... not so in Tokyo. It would have saved us money if we had just taken cabs from key location to key location.

We jumped on the bus, after 2 stops we were told the the bus wasn't continuing on the loop. The wait was 90 minutes for the next one even though the advertising stated buses come every 30 minutes or so. We could do a different loop but that would get us back 25 minutes after our required bus would leave. We were told just go get lunch and come back in 90 minutes! Very disappointing all round. Would definitely not recommend.

We bought two day ticket. First day we tried to start at skytree location at around 9:40. Bus was full. It took us another hour to get on the bus. We disembarked at Mitsubishi location where all three lines merge. It took another hour to get on another line. We tried again the next day. Similar experience. We decided our time was more valuable and just took subway. What a waist of time and money. Their bus schedule of three lines do not coordinate and bus is not frequent. We have taken Hop on Hop off around the world bus Tōkyō and Kyoto experience were not very good.

Perfectly good. Well organized. One improvement, always have a speaker from the actual country do the recording. A Japanese person speaking English is very difficult to understand as was used on the red line. Be sure the music is quieter than the speaker while the speaker is not speaking, keep it background. And always turn off the music while the speaker is talking

The location information was incorrect. The bus was twice too full. The timing of the buses are not great. I have done every hop on hop off bus in every major city I have visited and they have been amazing but Tokyo one was a nightmare!! Not easy to navigate and location information on some of the stops was not accurate. For example: shibuya city town hall stop is NOT where the bus stops at so we had trouble finding the stop by which time we missed it and had to wait an hour for the next one. Was a nightmare. I have told friends to just use the trained instead for their visit as it's too stressful!!

We only went on 2 Lines. There was not much audio on the red line and not much to see unless you got off the bus to see something. Felt like it was a waste of time. However, the Green Line had great audio... way more commentary than the red line... very well put together.... enjoyed it very much! I loved how well-marked the stops are and that the bus attendants are phenomenally friendly, direct, and organized. The buses are clean, the seats comfortable but it would be nice if the windows were cleaner since they don't allow you to reach your hands up to take photos (you can hit tree branches, overpasses, etc. It's a safety thing). I did all 3 routes on the 1 day pass and was on a different type of bus each time, I thought it was unusual. One had a clear ceiling and it would have been nice if it were cleaner so all that dinginess wasn't in the photos. The free wifi worked on 2 of the 3 buses. Overall, I enjoyed the Blue course the best, especially the last route after sunset. Seeing the Tokyo Tower at night was far more impressive than seeing it on the Red course earlier in the day. Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge were also beautiful but hard to photograph because of our speed. If possible, they should improve the Blue route by finding a way to allow riders to get better bridge photos, add the Sky Tree and also some other areas with interesting lights at night. The Blue route seemed very short.

It was really boring. Commentary audio boring. Route boring, all you see are boring buildings, stuck in traffic and red lights. We hopped on at Euno and hopped off at Marunouchi building. Walked around imperial palace. Hopped on again at Marunouchi building for blue route. Boring as hell and hopped off at Tokyo Sky Tower. Walked to the nearest train station and did our own sightseeing using trains.

It was not clear at booking that there were no seats in the bottom level of the bus. It was too hot to be on the top for long and there was no sun shade at all. We lasted a few stops before getting off hoping to get a bus with seats in air conditioning. The next bus that came had four seats below which were taken. The next was only for Japanese. We had heat stroke at this point so left. Without a double decker bus, the experience is not safe in summer months.

The female conductors were delightful. One of them in particular went the extra mile to find passengers who were waiting for the red course but had gone missing to toilets etc. she was full of life and next day she noticed us at the green line course and waved.... good memory considering all the passengers. I wish I knew her name, she deserves a big pat on the back!

I was greatful that the bus actually had the front area roofed with AC on the red line. Also, we were able to sit downstairs on the green line. Thank you so much. Also, one of the ladies (employee) at the bus stop was amazingly nice. Didn't get her name, though. She gave us a great tip that helped us a lot. The ride on the green line was rough but fun. It gave us an overview what we would like go see during our trip. We got out at the Tokyo Tower and went to Shibuya Scramble Crossing from there. I would always recommend the HOHO bus in a big city if available if one has never been there before.

The host was not as friendly as we have experience in other hop on amd off bus. We were not given earphones to listen to the audio tour. When we asked the host, she said she couldn't give us. Usually when we have done the hop on and off, they would have extras to give. I think there were others that did not have any too. We enjoyed seeing the attraction but would have been better to hear the commentary.

The reason we bought the hop in hop off bus was because it visited places we wanted to see. Unfortunately our morning did not start well as I took almost 1 hour in the Tokyo heat to find the pick up point. The sign was so small compared to other hop on hop off that I have experienced around the world. This meant we missed the 10.35 departure and the next one would not be until 2 pm. We therefore had to make our own way to the Tokyo Tower. We ended up catching the 2pm bus only to be told that it would not do the complete loop and we would need to wait for the next one. This meant we sat for 55 minutes until the next bus arrived. The finding and catching the bus in the heat made it frustrating. The hop on hop off bus experience unfortunately was not great.

It was nice to have a tour of Tokyo in the comfort of the hoho, seeing the various sights around an amazing city. It wasn't quite clear that there is one central point where all three buses merge (start/finish) and that you could move from one to the next, had this been more publicised, i would have made my start day tour different. All three routes have some great sights - and if a first time visitor to Tokyo i would recommend the hoho to get some bearings on where the main atractions are and simple to get off and get back on.

I liked that we had transportation around the city. There was a lot of dead air on the playback as we moved throughout the City. I thought there would have been more described to us from stop to stop. It was hot out so I am surprised the team didn't change to a bus with more indoor seats with air conditioning. I was also surprised that there was so much time between buses arriving. We had to wait at least 40 minutes for the next bus on the Red Line. I have ridden the Big Bus Tour in London, Paris and Barcelona... each came in 10-15 mins max!
