Seeing Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle back-to-back honestly felt like walking into two different fantasy novels in the same day. Pena was wild.. so colorful and eclectic that it kind of made no sense, but in the best possible way. It was fun to imagine how royalty actually lived there. Then the Moorish Castle completely flipped the vibe. Old stone walls, wide-open views, and this sense of stepping straight into history, it was just as impressive, but totally different. If you go, definitely wear good shoes (lots of steps and uneven paths), but it’s more than worth it. Easily one of the most fun days we’ve had on this trip.

The tickets we had no problem to enter the palace of the penalty then we walked around there were many people and everything went well we went up in uber is the most advisable and the cheapest for those who want to return or go see anything use uber buses are very expensive gasoline here is also very expensive also refuel in Spain before entering Portugal on this occasion there has been no problem with the tickets but in this same application I went to another palace with guide and audio guide and I could not download the radio guide and there was no guide and there was nothing at all I could only enter but yes without problems with the tickets but this time as I had not hired the highway or the tour guide everything went perfect.

After having gone to the beautiful Quinta da Regaleira, we went to the National Palace of Pena, which was stunning. Walking up there and seeing the building through the trees with all its bright colours is truly magnificent, a sight to behold. Going over the drawbridge you go to the interior entrance and after you have entered you get blown away the designs, especially the ceilings. Going through the interior of the palace makes you think you have gone back in time, seeing all the old furniture, paintings and ornaments you really start to appreciate the beauty of the palace. When you go onto the terrace outside you are met with a refreshing breeze and an absolutely gorgeous view. After having gone through and on the palace you go to the gardens which in its own right is a treasure trove of beauty. We had a joyous time at the Palace and we highly recommend it to anyone who visits Portugal.

Loved both experiences, Moorish castle's ruins are amazing, Pena Palace was a bit crowded but still manageable. Tip: bring your own food and drink, the only option in place is a bar so crowded with tourists that is pratically unreachable. Automatic distributors only accept cash and didn't worked at all in our visit.

The castle and the surrounding area are perfect. Admission control works quickly and smoothly. However, it is very crowded, which means too many tourists, too many people. You are quickly "processed" so that the following tourists can get in. You have the feeling of being part of the mechanism that has to work. Even if, as a tourist, I myself contribute to it being full, the next time I visit I would only buy the ticket for the park, but not for the tour of the palace itself.

Easy to get our tickets through Headout, fast delivery and good description. Choosing to visit Quinta da Regaleira first and then walk the path to Pena Palace was a good idea, but you need to set aside some time for that hike because there are many meters of elevation difference between the two places. We chose to go into the park at Pena first and walk for a while in it before using our booked time to Pena Palace. Both Regaleira and Pena Palace were definitely worth visiting, very exciting and beautiful architecture and the view from Pena is magnificent. After finishing the visit, we chose to walk back down to Sintra to take the train back to Lisbon. In summary, it was a very successful day but many spectacular views and interesting architecture.

Pena Palace truly is an amazing and historical place to visit. Be sure to book entry tickets beforehand to avoid delays and queues. Although there is a paid shuttle bus that takes you up to the palace, there are still steep walks that may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. The tickets purchased were not for a specific time slot. The stated 9:30 am was the opening time of the monastery and not the chosen time slot. This was not clearly stated when booking the tickets. It was very crowded. We were there at 9.45 am and the wait time was almost 2 hours to enter. In addition, only a small part of the monastery was accessible. So we stood in line longer than we entered the monastery.

An idyllic, peaceful walk through the beautiful park with its many old trees. Unfortunately, visitors to the Pena Palace are then left standing in a long queue in the sun at the top of the palace. No shade. The reception staff are also very unfriendly in this queue. Organizationally, this is actually a real imposition. The palace itself is super interesting.

Quinta da Regaleira was fantastic with very interesting grounds and of course the incomparable Poco Initiativa (spelling wrong). Pena Palace was a total waste for two reasons. One: there are three routes suggested to get to the palace that allow one to see the grounds. The beginning was marked and then at all subsequent intersections there was no indication of how to stay on the path. So we wasted a lot of time and then two: the palace walk through was so crowded as to be not worth it.

The park and the palace. What wasn't good was the parking situation. It's really bad. There are too few parking spaces. We had booked two events with a fixed slot. This was not possible as the entrances are far too far apart. This is not mentioned anywhere. We were forced to take a cab to get from A to B. In addition, the guided tour through the castle is mass processing and you walk through like a herd of cattle. What particularly bothered me was the condition of the castle. It should be renovated or given a new coat of paint. You could expect more for the money you pay.

The line to get in was over 35 minutes long and very confusing (and we were there early). The chapel is under construction so there was little to see AND it was super noisy with construction noise!! The truth is that with the purchased tickets we arrived and we did not have to queue, we went directly. In that sense everything was very comfortable and good. What upset us and delayed us the most was the access with the car which is something that I have not read anywhere. On the internet it said that there was parking near the monuments but the reality is that when I went there was a huge queue of cars and we arrived at the first monument 45 minutes later. They let us pass without any problem when we explained the situation but the truth is that it is something that makes us angry and spoils the day because if we had been told beforehand we could have gone with more time in advance.

One of a kind and a perfect example of Portuguese decor and architecture, be warned - some steep hills which may be harder for some and leave plenty of time to explore. Easy to get to from Lisbon, and nice to visit sintra old town too. Recommend this as a full day trip. the site is beautiful, its architecture is outstanding, but there is nothing else, not a single information sign of the site, the audi aids are from the cell phone of each one, people who come from abroad sometimes do not have local network, then that is useless, the price and the time you have to wait are not equivalent to what you can see, the cloister that is visited in 15 minutes and already, does not have access to the church, you have to stand in line for two hours, the truth is that there are more experiences in places like Sintra, I feel a bit ripped off, since the basic entrance is 20 € and wait two hours because the reserved time is the same, you have to stand in line,

In order to get to the palace, its a steep hike and although we had a ticket with a time slot but it took around 40minutes to actually get inside the palace. There was such a long queue and ee had to wait in the sun. I think the guided tours were stopping to explain and it held up the rest of the queue so it took forever to see a couple of rooms inside the palace. However the views from outside the palace were nice and memorable.

The cloisters were amazing but I thought I was paying to see the church as well as seeing Vasco de Gamma's tomb was my priority. Arrived two hours before my 11.30 entry but the ticket had not downloaded on to the app. Used chat and eventually a live call to end up getting tickets sent to my email. Stood in the rain was now at the end of the queue. Finally got in at 12.10. Just not worth the wait or the hassle. We are pensioners from a Scotland and really didn't expect this. No warnings about having to stand for hours.

Long traffic jams to get inside, you have to queue longer than the visit takes. The building and courtyard are beautiful, but we recommend getting in just before 5 p.m., with no traffic jam and you can view the site at your leisure. Even if you do it very quietly you'll be around in no more than 20 minutes.... Expensive tickets, in other words.

I went to Moateiro in the morning before it even opened and there was a huge queue to get in, I spent 40 minutes in line. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have the patience, because there's nothing inside, it's just a big beautiful courtyard and nothing more. But if you want to go, go a couple of hours before it opens because I hear there's practically no queue.

The day before, I had booked our tickets online. So I had the electronic tickets on my smartphone. The next day, once we got there and despite having bought our tickets, we had to queue for 40 minutes! When we got to the entrance, my smartphone had no network, so it was impossible to show the e-tickets! We had to go to the monastery kiosk and the employee connected to the monastery's wifi, so I got a signal again and was able to display the tickets. We returned to the entrance, without having to queue up again. A word of advice: you should offer tickets with specific times or time slots (e.g. between 10 and 11 a.m.), to avoid having to wait so long in a queue. Many other museums and tourist attractions do this in other countries.

When queuing, it wasn't clear which timeslot the people in front of you in the queue had. It was also unclear how big the time window was in which you could still get in with a 12:00 timeslot. We really rushed to get to the palace on time at 12:00, but then had to wait in the queue for another 15 minutes. The young man at the park entrance had told us that we had to be at the palace entrance on time, which was bullshit. The tour itself was very interesting, good explanations and a great app. But the waiting times on the tour were far too long because there were too many people at the same time.

The experience in the park as in the palace was as expected, good. The negative point was that they advertise general admission tickets at a price of 22 € and then charge 26 €. In addition, the tickets for minors are for children up to 6 years old when on the official website they are up to 18 years old. We were inspired by social media pics of the palace and other local attractions to visit. However, we found local transportation to the ticket redemption spot and between the palace and Quinta da Regaleira to be somewhat expensive. We spent 86 euros on a duo ticket deal, 30 euros on a tuk-tuk from our car park to the palace, 20 euros on a taxi from the palace to Quinta and then a further 15 euros on another tuk tuk from Quinta back to our car, so a steep 150 euros for a day out! It was not possible to walk due to distances and timings, I wish I'd done more research. We visited at 3pm and 4:30pm towards the end of the day, it was still very busy. We enjoyed the gardens, views and the exercise of walking around but sadly it just didn't meet our expectations. Staff were helpful but the whole attraction felt very inauthentic and wished we'd stayed at the beach instead.

The enclosure is beautiful. However, I detail the issues to improve: You buy tickets without a schedule and you have to wait in line for at least 40 minutes, terrible. You have to wait in the area where the sun shines. My skin got burned waiting to get in. It is convenient to have a parasol in the queue area. The lack of organization and information clearly spoiled the experience of visiting the 2 palaces which are worth the detour because magnificent, only one day is not enough to visit the 2 palaces without running, especially one counting the travel time of buses and waiting, moreover we were surprised to see that on our arrival we had to add money to take transport to the palaces. And there was a very big organizational problem at Pena palace: we couldn't take the garden shuttle which is normally included in the tickets, because we couldn't make the exchange and an agent explained to us that they couldn't do anything because they didn't work with the company... The environment is much more beautiful than the palaces inside. Feeling of going like sheep squeezed all too many people to see the penalty. I had a feeling of suffocation and I even asked myself in case of emergency how to get out of there, you can't see anything well because of the amount of people. Besides all this, the experience with the reservation in HEADOUT was disastrous. First of all I booked on a link at a price and they charged me more.... After several emails complaining they told me that it was due to the time slot selected (nowhere did it say that the price varied according to the time). I also booked the day before so as not to waste time queuing and you have to queue anyway. HEADOUT sent me two tickets for the Palacio da pena and the Quinta da Regaleira and I got the entrance to the villa of the Countess of Elda. I asked for my ticket to the villa, but they did not send it to me and the day of the visit arrived and we were left without seeing it since they did not send me anything nor did they explain anything to me. Almost a week after the visit, they replied to my email and told me that the entrance was included and that I had to show the entrance to the palace, which was the same thing (this information does not appear anywhere). Besides, the price seems excessive to me, it is a great thing to pay and you think it is going to be a fantastic experience and then you see yourself there in the middle of a line of people in the corridors of the castle where there are a lot of people crowded, you do not see things well and I think it is really dangerous in an emergency situation is a mousetrap. Without a doubt, I would not repeat for anything in the world, at most see the surroundings and walk around, but I would not go into such a touristy place.

You're better off buying the ticket when you get there and then immediately going on. They are very strict about only letting you in during your time slot, so if you come too early you're not allowed in and have to just wait.

Nothing it was an awful experience!!! I booked a 12pm slot which was confirmed on WhatsApp and e-mail. Our bus was later than hoped so we rushed to the palace getting from the gate to the queue in 15 mins so we weren't late for our time slot as was very clear no entry if we were late. We were in front of the 12pm time slot. We got in the queue at 11.25am. People from earlier time slots were being allowed in front of us some with a 10.30 admission time. At least 50 people were allowed in up to 11.55. It is very clear if you were late you would be refused entry. We eventually got to the front of the queue but were turned away as tickets said 12.30 despite the confirmation being 12pm. There was nowhere that said the ticket time would be different to the confirmation. We explained the issue but were told we had to join the back of the queue. When we eventually got into the palace it was overcrowded and nobody could move. It was awful and felt claustrophobic. As it was so bad we asked the guide to let us out and we went back out the entry. I believe some of the overcrowding was due to people being allowed in who had missed their earlier time slots.A horrible horrible experience and will warn others of the poor organisation, terrible overcrowding and inconsistent approach of staff. Never again!!!!

A girl in our group fell and we went to the hospital, this created a delay in the program, I contacted support to ask if it was possible to enter the next shift and was told it was impossible. My experience: the tickets for one of the sites arrived with incorrect download. I requested them through the chat (with a robot) from the link in the email and they were still the same. An operator of the park to visit told us to do it through the app. More of the same, the entrance appeared with a blank screen. Getting there is an absolute disaster! And not reasonable for visitors with a private car. Here a bis, there a tuck tuck ... another extra BUS ... It was totally unrelaxing and restless. People were pushed through the palace, no time, no peace and quiet. No Never again!

It's impossible to get in, even with a ticket, because there's a queue of at least 2 hours in full sunlight and I'm 66, so it's impossible. This is not normal !!!!!

I sent an email that has not been answered. The tickets were for the 20th and I wanted them for the 13th. Even so, I planned a new trip for the 20th but, due to the risk of fire the days of being closed were being extended. In the end it was until the 19th but the uncertainty continued so we did not go. In short, I just lost more than 140 € for nothing and no one has answered the mail I sent. Obviously I request a refund.
