We had a great informative guide who had a great sense of humour. Can't remember his name though. But he took us for the Ruakuri Tour at 1:30pm on Thurs 18th April. Loved learning about the different natural structures down there and how they were formed. A well structured walkway/path. Loved the glow worms and learning about them and their life cycle too. Highly recommended trip.

My friend and I had a fantastic time of the Ruakuri caves tour. Our guide Pippin was fantastic. She showed passion, enthusiasm and a personal connection to the cave whcih made the tour really engaging. Highly recommend this experience.

What my family and I loved was the quality of the speakers, the beauty of the rocks, the preservation of this incredible site and the glow worms, which simply amazed our children.

We had the loveliest tour guide show us through the caves and glowworm experience. He was very informative, lots of fun and I it was very interesting. I would recommend this tour for all age groups it's easily accessible and although being slightly clastaphobic I did not feel it at all on this tour, so go for it people

We only did Ruakuri caves. We got no info about the Waitomo but got a bit confused if we paid too much but nobody said so..?!? Or if we should have gone to both caves??

The Guide was excellent - even though the jokes were corny, they still raised a chuckle. The caves themselves were a bit disappointing compared to other experiences. The lighting was poor - a few colours wouldn't go amiss and very few glow-worms. I was left with the impression that I had chosen the wrong option.

The caves were well managed with great check in staff. Our guide was funny and knowledgeable and it was amazing to see the Glow worms and learn some of the history of the area.

Great attraction and easy to find with the directions supplied. Informative tour and a must see if your're in New Zealand. One of out party had difficulty walking and he was left behind a couple of times to catch up. I felt our guide should have been more accomodating for his difficulty.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to enhance the experience of visiting Ruakuri cave. Just about managed to keep the group together despite one kid's wish to rush off into the unknown. Good job keeping everyone together and engaged. At one and a half hours, the tour is about as long as you could make it. There were times we were waiting in the dark such as when the black water rafters (well they were on rubber rings!) passed under the bridge we were standing on and we waited for them to arrive then move on. The caves are a delight and the tour well plotted. The slighly scary spiral descent in low light is more friendly on the way out now your eyes have become accustomed to tte dark

Website tickets were limited and unclear for booking for 3. Packages allowed ticket quantity of 1 person with a qty of 3. When asking for clarity on website support chatessenger tool, the response rate was slow (72hrs) after our original message.
