Waitomo Glowworm Caves Guided Tour with Optional Ruakuri Cave Tour

The tour was amazing, our guide is very knowledgeable, we saw so many glow worms inside the cave. Couldn't take photo till end of boat trip but it's all right, still an awesome experience.

loved the 'other worldiy' feeling. we really appreciated Glen's untiring and persistent efforts to try and get everyone to keep silent.

Our Waitomo Caves guide was knowledgeable, kind and catering to the group. She even sang in the caves cathedral as it was Anzac Day. She sang a moving song sung to the Māori battalion before leaving our shores. Stephen, our guide for the Kuakuri Cave was awesome. He knew the cave extremely well, his knowledge was excellent enhancing our trip experience. His obvious cave experience was reassuring too. Highly recommend.

Loved the caves and the guides were amazing. I bought my grandkids and they enjoyed it to. We had joe and he was a great guide. My experience booking with head out was confusing. I paid and it said the tickets would come through in 2 hours but they still hadn't in 2 days.

We had a great informative guide who had a great sense of humour. Can't remember his name though. But he took us for the Ruakuri Tour at 1:30pm on Thurs 18th April. Loved learning about the different natural structures down there and how they were formed. A well structured walkway/path. Loved the glow worms and learning about them and their life cycle too. Highly recommended trip.

I absolutely loved the guided tour but the little boats under the glow worms very very special. Booking was super simple.

My friend and I had a fantastic time of the Ruakuri caves tour. Our guide Pippin was fantastic. She showed passion, enthusiasm and a personal connection to the cave whcih made the tour really engaging. Highly recommend this experience.

It's was our first time in waitamo caves and we love it with family . We love to have more time in boating . The tour guide was experienced loved her voice singing . Will come again 💕💕💕

What my family and I loved was the quality of the speakers, the beauty of the rocks, the preservation of this incredible site and the glow worms, which simply amazed our children.

I enjoyed the Waitomo caves tour and thought it was well done. The boat ride was a bit cramped but amazing. My booking confirmation took days to come through, rather than 2 hours, and I did not receive an email in return to mine.

Amazing experience! The cave itself was pretty impressive, but seeing the glow worms was pretty special. Our tour guide explained everything well and delivered a great experience for the whole group.

The caves and the history behind them was just breathtaking, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and quite funny as well, but was very passionate about the caves, the actual glow worms were amazing, their glow and lifecycle was explained in detail. The boat ride through the caves was awesome. This was a fantastic experience.

We had the loveliest tour guide show us through the caves and glowworm experience. He was very informative, lots of fun and I it was very interesting. I would recommend this tour for all age groups it's easily accessible and although being slightly clastaphobic I did not feel it at all on this tour, so go for it people

A lovely place to visit Staff were friendly The Queen has been there, if it's good enough for her it's good enough for me

The caves were amazing. The tour giude knew so much information about them and it was really interesting. Such an easy walk through the caves

The environment was clean and respectful of the nature, the guide was funny and the fact that he was Maori was so honorable.

We only did Ruakuri caves. We got no info about the Waitomo but got a bit confused if we paid too much but nobody said so..?!? Or if we should have gone to both caves??

Glowworms are one of a kind, a must-see I like that this venue is governed by mostly Maori people, giving it a special status.
