Mary Valley Rattler Train Experience from Gympie

De rit was leuk, vooral al je als Nederlanders daar de omgeving niet goed kent. Mooie uitzichten. De vrijwilligers waren heeeeeel erg leuk. Dat maakte de trip de moeite waard.

All staff so friendly and helpful. The train and infrastructure was so impressive. The running commentary was the best. A lovely breakfast onsite before we started. Easy parking. We were sorry when it finished.

Lovely trip in the countryside. Brought back memories of travelling in steam trains when young. Very friendly helpful staff.

Ticketing was a simple and user friendly process. Everyone on the day was welcoming and friendly. It was a smooth journey with interesting information plus we were delighted with the volunteers and entertainment at the destinations. My only negative comment would be that the announcements and PA info whilst travelling was not well rehearsed and came across disjointed. Overall a very pleasant experience and I have already recommended it to others.

Booking tickets online was easy as. Felt like a kid again on the steam train with the smell and the choo choo whistle 🤣. Very informative from the newby commentator, he did a great job and was funny with it. Overall it was a great experience 👍

The historic train, the scenery is excellent. The stop at Amamoor was more than sufficient for a break and a coffee. The staff/volunteers were brilliant and extremely knowledgeable.

Booking on online was very easy and I received emails with confirmation, information on the event and a reminder email. Staff were very friendly and waved us off at the station. The trip through Mary Valley was relaxing, even with the bumps and swaying from the train :) The stop at Amamoor was long enough to enjoy a cool drink, look at the couple of stalls and watch the train being turned around. We had Pete in our carriage and he was happy to chat. Angel took our lunch order and she was lovley. We enjoyed the scenery and our Mary Valley Rattler experience.

Good experience and hardworking volunteers enjoyed the trip. Disappointed with the Station Cafe service, they took so long too do anything. Food and Coffee was good though.

We actually didn't make it as my son as unwell. I was told we would get a voucher to use to book again but didn't receive it . However I am not unhappy because I know thay if cancel less than 24 hours before the time you lose your money so I expected that . It was just such a pity my son got sick that day

Super easy ticketing process, we got to Gympie a bit earlier, so we had time to have morning tea at the cafe at the station the train ride was great, very informative commentary along the way, staff were amazing and looked after us well.a fantastic and enjoyable day out.

Fantastic to be able to experience this historic moment. Special day as it was my 60th birthday also. Service wa great and our attending staff member "Angel" was fantastic. We upgraded to have the lunch experience and the meal was great. Was disappointing that the booking was done through an American owned and run company and not from the Australian web site we tried to book on for the non-for profit Mary Valley Rattler.

Perfect experience for a family day out, wonderful scenery views and friendly staff always going above and beyond throughout the trip giving great tips and advice on what to look out for along the train ride experience 😀 definitely recommended

It was great to experience the past by riding in a stream train, the Mary Valley Rattler. The station and train staff were excellent. The ticketing all worked well.

The steam train and the compartments are of a vintage style, and so as the station, had the feeling that I had travelled back in time. The scenic view is amazing. The staff are nice and polite. Can also enjoy some hot food and a cup of coffee in the end of the trip. Great experience.

Loved the train trip, especially the commentary from the young man who spoke. One criticism re redemption of online tickets- the online info said to meet near Saeurs over the road to redeem tickets. In fact it was much easier and we eventually found the right person in the ticket box. All was good, but was somewhat confusing earlier.

The stop at Amamoor was lovely, excellent commentary en route and beautiful scenery along the way. A heads up regarding limited parking at Gympie station would have been helpful.

Was such a fantastic time all the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable especially Amanda, she was lovely and took the time to speak to everyone in our carriage. The audio system definitely needs attention as unfortunately we couldn't hear the driver when he was talking.

Ticketing online was easy n efficient, upon arrival at station we went head of the line n escorted to carriage 527, where Jeff took great care of us. His knowledge of the area made our train ride even more interesting. However, toilet access in carriage in front of us did not work. We were unable to flush the toilet and unfortunately the bowl was full of waste. It was a very unpleasant experience.

We loved every minute of this wonderful 'must do' experience! The staff are so passionate and it was a lot of fun! We LOVED stopping in Amamoor and particularly Dagun with the games, wine tasting, live music and market stalls! Thank you for letting us bring our fur baby and we had our own private pet carriage! We will definitely be back when our family is next visiting!

The staff are very knowledgeable about the history of the area and also about the train itself. Was nice to see them dressed in uniforms fitting to the era of the train, our carriage attendent was a lot of fun talking to the guests as he clipped our tickets like they used to do. The train was clean as was the stations that we stopped at, when we got to the point where we had to turn the engine around for our return trip they explained how the turntable worked. On the whole a very enjoyable day out.
