Florence Cathedral Guided Tour with Optional Dome Climb

Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us great stories about the history of the Duomo, nearby buildings and Florence. It was raining and not an easy climb, but a great experience.

While I enjoyed my experience, the inclusions on this guided were not what was proposed. The tour only included the guided Dome Climb. We did not tour the Cathedral as was communicated.

The whole visit to the cathedral was a delight, our guide Gloria was exceptional very friendly, and charming, highly knowledgeable of the history of the cathedral and of Florence.Went out of her way to assist us with arranging extra activities in and around the cathedral. IMPORTANT..... the tour is advertised as the visit to the Duomo and Bell Tower as optional, these are NOT included in the tour price. You will need to book these separately. This I would advise to do online prior to your visit to Florence, we tried to book on the day for the visit up to the Duomo, to be told soonest availability is 10 days.

We appreciated our guide Vera. She was very knowledgeable about the Duomo. The office staff held into a bag for us and were very friendly and helpful.

I don't think you really need a guide for this experience - you walk up over 400 steps and barely spend any time listening to guide at all. If I went again I'd do it without a guide

The guide was excellent, and the climbing part was fun. But it was unclear that the climb and getting into the church were two different lines. Also, it would be helpful to know that no backpacks or bags are allowed in this church. The rules are different than other cathedrals.

The experience was described as cathedral tour with optional dome climb. In fact the ticket was for the dome climb with no visit inside the cathedral. There was another tour of the cathedral so I managed to swap, but the description was misleading

Despite the great interest and many people climbing the dome the organization was good the visit went very well. The guide was really very good

I booked my ticket 30 min before the tour and was lucky I did. Very convenient, the guides were helpful, and I had an easier time skipping the queues around the Florence cathedral. Definitely would use again.

It is a place to visit, with the guide we do not lose very interesting details, the entrance was very fast and the staff very attentive.

Climbing up the dome steps was great . Would recommend this and the view . We did not get a guided tour of the cathedral / only the dome climb . To visit the cathedral after the climb we had to go outside again and join a very long queue.

I loved the experience because I was able to make the climb. I am 79 years old and wasn't sure I would make the top. I persevered and was rewarded with beautiful views and renewed self confidence.

No guidance at all to the Baptistery, the museum and the inside of the Dome. Very few information about the building of the Dome and the exterior facade. Actually I already had that info. I expected much more.

We liked the tour very much. The only thing I would remove in the title of the experience is the optional climb to the dome, because at least we were confused, we thought we had it included and that we could go up at the end of the tour.

The guide was nice and polite but his English is not that great and he was little confused about the entering time He is good but need to import his language a little

The view from the top of the florence Duom was spectacular. However, the trip was listed as Tour of the FLorence Cathedral with Optional Cupola climb and tower Climb when actually it was solely a cupola climb with NO tour of the Cathedral- the guide had no idea what to do with us or where we should enter to get into the cathedral, and knew nothing of the tower option. This is ENTIRELY misleading. We enjoyed the climb and view but this is NOT what we signed up for.

The views from the Dome were magnificent, but the views of the ceiling artwork were disappointing. It was difficult to see what section the guide was referring to in her explanation of the various depictions. A laser pointer would have helped direct our attention to specific panels. We should also have taken a bottle of water with us.

Very nice and adapting to the situation, the only thing he did nothing but repeat clearly, every 3.4 words, otherwise very friendly and helpful.

Easy and clear directions/informations regarding buying the tickets and where to find the guide before the tour. The people at the meeting point was helpful and you get a lot for your money. With the tickets we had entrance to everything around and in the cathedral. The guide was a little bit hard to understand but that was because of the audioequipment and not the guide herself. The guide was very friendly, welcoming and had a lot of knowledge of Florence, the cathedral and the dome itself.
