St. Peter’s Basilica Dome Guided Tour

The guide was brilliant, as was the tour. The only frustration was that the scheduled and advertised times were actually longer because of the crowds. We had to leave before finishing to go on another scheduled tour. We had to leave after some people had been able to follow the two tours with the same guide. It would have been great to suggest this at the time of booking, as we had to go through two different people and had to cut short our visit to St Peter's Basilica, which we would have liked to have been able to do in its entirety, as it was so breathtaking.

The guide was very professional, ponctual and she knows a lot of curious things about the history of S. Peter's Basilic.

The tour guide was nice, but her accent was a bit heavy at times. Not sure how long she was supposed to be with us, but I felt that total time with her inside the Basilica was not that long, and, of course, she left before we went to line up for the dome climb. A lot of time was spent on gathering at the meeting place, walking over to St. Peter's, waiting in line (security, dome climb), etc.; not sure how this can be improved....

Eleonora is a good guide, very nice and pleasant in her explanations. The duration of the tour is correct and at the end you can continue in the basilica to take pictures or see the works more slowly. The company had an organizational problem and forced the guide to leave us before the end, we went up to the dome alone.

It was great, even though on a crowded day because of easter our tour guide made it possible to explain and make sure we get the best out of it.

The views from the top are amazing. As an added bonus you get to climb steep and incredible spiral starcases until you heart keeps pounding to its limits. Your legs feel it too. Do not forget to bring you best camera to take the best pictures you can. Kudos to Nadya, our tour guide.

The tour guide was perfect. The description Skipp line does not fit at all. We were in line with everyone else without a guide.

Everything was correct and good. We have been with Katy, the TourOperator, it is incredible how well prepared she is and how enjoyable the whole tour has been, especially if we take into account that the things to enter the reserved sites of the Vatican are very long to pass the police control.

We had a very friendly lady who conducted the tours in a very varied and competent manner. We would book again.

We had a wonderful guide, Patrizia. She speaks german extremley well and provided us with valuable information regarding the historical, religious and cultural context. Thanks to her friendly nature, she made the tour also interesting for the kids. The tour started on time and was organized very well. You should not miss the view from the top of St. Peters Basilica, though the way up is a little bit arduous and leads partly through a narrow corridor. It was a great experience for the whole family!

A special mention for Susanna, our guide! She captivated the group's attention with lots of information, anecdotes, expertise, kindness and helpfulness. I had already visited the dome, the basilica, the caves, the square... but this time it was an even more intense visit. Thank you!

The place is amazing. My only caveat for other travelers is to leave a buffer time and go early. The queue for security can be 30 minutes to several hours and there is no skip the line for this.

We came few minutes later at the tour. No one was answering our calls BUT we were lucky that a security guy knew our tour guide and contacted him directly. The tourguide was amazing, friendly happy to explain. The agency though never answered our calls or messages in which we were informing them that we were late and lost! Maybe this is something that can be improved. Place amazing! The tourgide very good and kind!

everything was great but it was disappointing that we had to queue for almost 1.5 hours before we could even get inside the St Peters' Basilica. It would be a big plus if there would be a 'fast track' or skip the normal lines arrangement to get to the exquisite tour. At least, if this is always the case, it would help if you would mention in your description that the wait is for 1.5 hrs. This avoids the situation that following bookings (e.g., Vatican Museums) were made in vain because the timings didn't fit any more. Again, the guide was very nice and very knowledgeable.

My family and I loved the visit to the dome and St. Peter's Chapel, all 10, special attention to our guide Valentina, a professional and explaining everything in detail, recommended 100%.
