We went on a tour with Click Excursión and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Our driver, Imad Jamzaoui, was extremely friendly, attentive at all times, and very professional. During the trip, he explained everything in detail, took care of the group, and gave us great recommendations that made all the difference to the tour. The organization was perfect, the guide was very good, and the food was delicious. Without a doubt, this is a highly recommended excursion, and we would especially like to highlight Imad's treatment and dedication. We would definitely do it again.

Fantastic excursion. Pre-meeting arrangements easy to make by WhatsApp. Picked up at arranged time and location by very helpful Mouhssine who was very welcoming and helpful. He checked in throughout the day to make sure everything was going ok. Unique trip with good stopping points, places of interest and photo opportunities. A reasonably challenging mountain walk to see the waterfalls. Stout shoes, good balance and strong knees recommended! Lovely lunch by the stunning river. An excellent day excursion. Highly recommended. Thanks to all.

A wonderful excursion to the Berber region at the foot of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. A delightful encounter with a Berber family for a tea ceremony, tasting bread, honey, olive oil, and butter; discovering pottery making; meeting with the women's cooperative that produces argan oil; visiting the waterfalls, which are abundant at this time of year; followed by a delicious meal by the river. Special mention to our guide Morad for his knowledge and kindness. A must-do!

The tour is very touristy and designed to encourage you to buy items at the various stops. But it does allow you to meet people who can give you insights into the places and artisanal products. Medhi is a very friendly guide, very sociable and loves meeting people.

A very good overview of the Ourika valley in one day, the Berber villages, their dwellings and their cuisine. SitiFadma, the village at the end of the valley, is very busy. One group follows another on the ascent, which is no mean feat. Beautiful colors in the waterside restaurants. Oussama, our guide who accompanied us from Marrakech, was very friendly and provided explanations throughout the trip, in both French and English. I recommend this tour for those who want a quick overview of this region.

I had an amazing experience on the tour! The scenery was stunning, the itinerary was well-organized, and the whole day ran smoothly. Our driver, Ayoub, was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He spoke excellent English, which made the trip even more enjoyable and easy to follow. I highly recommend this tour—especially with Ayoub as your driver!

  • Escape Marrakech for a full day in the Atlas Mountains, where you'll see Berber villages, learn about argan oil production, and hike to cascading waterfalls fed by mountain snowmelt.

    Getting started

Your driver picks you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech between 8:30-9:00am in an air-conditioned minivan. If your accommodation is in the old medina and not accessible by car, you'll meet at a nearby pickup point (confirmed by email the day before). Have your booking confirmation ready. Pickup details will be sent via email the day before your trip (usually by 5pm), or shortly after booking for last-minute reservations.

    What to expect

A full day exploring the High Atlas foothills. You'll drive through mountain scenery, stop at Tnine Ourika village, visit a Berber home, see argan oil being handmade, and hike with a local mountain guide to Setti Fatma waterfalls. The tour includes regular photo stops at panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley and mountains.

    Features

    • Scenic Atlas Mountains drive: Leave Marrakech and wind through the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Pass red hills, terraced fields, olive groves, and traditional Berber villages set against mountain peaks. The road follows the Ourika River as you climb toward the valley.

    • Tnine Ourika village stop: Stop at Tnine Ourika, a traditional Berber village with a weekly Monday souk. See locals trading spices, produce, textiles, and crafts at the bustling market if your tour falls on a Monday. On other days, you'll pass through the village and continue into the mountains.

    • Women's argan oil cooperative: Watch Berber women crack argan nuts between stones and press the kernels to extract oil. Learn why this "liquid gold" only grows in Morocco and how the cooperative supports local women's livelihoods.

    • Berber home visit: Step inside a traditional adobe house built into the mountainside to see thick walls, handwoven carpets, and low seating areas. Meet a local family and learn how daily life revolves around farming, animal herding, and seasonal rhythms.

    • Ourika Valley arrival: Reach the heart of Ourika Valley, where lush greenery contrasts with the rocky Atlas peaks. The valley is fed by snowmelt from the High Atlas, creating a green oasis just 60km from Marrakech.

    • Waterfall hike: Walk from Setti Fatma village (elevation 1,500m) up to the first of seven waterfalls at 1,700m. The rocky trail climbs 200 meters in elevation alongside the river, crossing wooden bridges. Your local guide leads the 1-hour hike and points out the remaining 6 waterfalls visible from viewpoints along the path.

    • Riverside setting: Relax by the Ourika River, where cafés and restaurants line the banks. If you've upgraded to lunch, enjoy a 3-course meal with mountain views before returning to Marrakech.

You'll return to Marrakech with drop-off at your hotel or a different location in the city if requested.
