Miyakojima Undersea Park is a unique facility that offers an opportunity for the elderly and children to watch marine life swim through the crystal-clear waters. The facility measures a staggering 29.6m wide and 5m deep, with an expansive space of approximately 150 square meters. The park features 24 acrylic panel windows that provide a clear view of the underwater world rich with vibrant coral reefs, and colorful tropical fish such as Solas Damselfish, Threadfin Butterflyfish, Clownfish, and Red Lionfish. The deep blue sea also offers the chance to spot octopuses, sea snakes, and other fascinating marine creatures.
More than 140 types of fish have been confirmed to inhabit the area, with approximately 60 types visible on average, varying depending on the season and time. Additionally, you can even spot cute sea turtles. To make the experience more accessible to everyone, the park offers a 20 percent discount on general admission tickets, allowing visitors to enjoy the park's attractions at a lower cost. This is a great opportunity for families and kids to enjoy a day of fun while learning about marine life.
The interior of the exhibition lobby at the facility is designed after a turtle shell, representing the blessings of the sea that surrounds Miyako island. Visitors can also get creative and craft their own souvenirs using shells, providing a memorable keepsake of their visit.
