    Begin at the Wild About Lapland office in Rovaniemi city centre or arrange hotel pick-up if staying outside the centre. After a brief introduction and safety instructions from your professional guide, you’ll be equipped with thermal overalls, boots, gloves, helmet, and balaclava before heading to the snowmobiles.

    Northern Lights snowmobile ride

    This night tour takes you deep into Lapland’s snowy Taiga forests, offering a unique opportunity to experience the Arctic wilderness after dark. The route includes several stops to admire the frozen landscape and, with luck, witness the Northern Lights overhead.

  • What to bring

    • Bring a valid physical driving license (A1, T, A or B category, valid in Finland) if you will be driving a snowmobile.

    • Bring a bottle of water.

    • Dress warmly and use good under-layers, socks, hats, and gloves; cold weather clothing (thermal overall, boots, gloves, helmet, balaclava) will be provided, but personal preparation is recommended.

    What’s not allowed

    • Alcoholic drinks are not permitted.

    • It is strictly prohibited to drive a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

    • The experience is not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions.

    • Large bags and suitcases are not recommended during the activity.

    Accessibility

    • This experience is not wheelchair accessible.

    Additional information

    • Minimum age requirements apply: participants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license to drive a snowmobile.

    • If your accommodation is in Rovaniemi city centre, you must walk to the office at Rovakatu 24, 96200 Rovaniemi; no city centre pick-ups are available.

    • Hotel pick-ups for accommodations outside the city centre are available for an extra surcharge if 10 km or further from the centre; pick-up time will be confirmed by email and commences 10–60 minutes prior to the start time.

    • The snowmobile driver is liable for damages up to €1000 per person in case of an accident.

    • Two adults share one snowmobile; a single driving supplement is available for an extra charge.

    • Cold weather clothing will be provided, but please dress appropriately for winter conditions.

    • Cancellation fees apply: 100% if cancelled 1 day or less before the event, 50% if 7 days or less, 10% if 365 days or less before the event.

    • The experience operates in small groups with a maximum of 8 participants.
