The architecture at Pena Palace was stunning, not to mention the views. But, as a gardener, the highlight for me was the creativity in the secret passages and connections in all the gardens at Quinta de Regaleira.

Such a gorgeous and mystical place to wander and explore. The initiation well and the caves were the kids favorite. The grounds and detail were spectacular. We had an audio tour with our tickets but didn't see specifics on how to get that so unfortunately, we missed out on that. Next time, I would opt for a guide.

The tickets worked perfectly, and we were given clear instructions on where to go and how to get there. They were however a lot more expensive than on the official site - which we didn't know before booking sadly.

Had a great day in Lisbon first visiting the Sao Jorge Castle and then making our way by tram to the Monastary. Easy with the pre-purchased tickets not to have to queue to buy tickets!

Unless there was a time slot, it was necessary to wait 25 minutes in a queue.
But it's absolutely worth visiting. Everyone who is in Belem should visit it! It's a must for understanding Portugal's history.

Det var ikke overfylt i slottet. Det var lett å komme inn. Lastet ned guiden, som ikke var helt selvforklarende. Store deler av slottet var under renovering, noe som begrenset hvor vi kunne gå!
Det burde vi ha fått vite før vi gikk inn.

Det portugisiske kongehusets palass i Sintra er fantastisk. Høydepunktet for oss var hovedsalen, hvor våpenskjoldene til datidens adelsfamilier pryder taket. Pena-palasset er derimot som et eventyr! Jeg elsket å besøke begge...
