Rondleidingen per helikopter in Catania

Did this as part of a girls’ trip and had a blast. The pilot was a riot, and we giggled the whole way. Only negative: the headsets made my hair all frizzy. Pro tip: tie your hair back!

Went solo since my friends chickened out. Staff were welcoming, didn’t make me feel awkward. Quick safety talk, then up we went. Can’t believe how close we got to the craters. Only minus: tricky to get to the heliport without a car.

Family trip—me, hubby, 2 kids (ages 9 & 12). Both kids were buzzing with excitement, and the pilot answered their million questions. Highlights: flying over the dark lava fields, spotting tiny villages. Heads up: can’t take pics inside the helicopter, but you can shoot all you want out the window.

Me and my wife did the Etna helicopter tour on a whim and didn’t regret it. It’s not cheap but you really get what you pay for. The pilot pointed out all the lava flows (even from the 2002 eruption). Unreal sights. Would recommend.

We surprised our parents for their anniversary with this heli tour. They’ve never done anything like this before. The staff was sooo patient with my mom’s 1000 questions. Flight up was smooth, saw little puffs of steam and rivers of black rock. Pilot pointed out old lava trails from past eruptions. Parents are still talking about it!

Came with my teenage son (he’s obsessed with volcanoes) and he hasn’t stopped smiling since. The staff let him sit up front, which made his year. Views are out of this world. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Amazing views, but the ride was bumpier than I expected. Felt safe with the pilot, though. Learned a lot about Etna’s history. Don’t skip the pre-flight espresso at the lounge, it’s strong.

Our family of 4 took the flight and everyone loved it. The pilot was super knowledgeable and made the experience fun for the kids. Got to see smoke coming out of the main crater! Would do it again.
