A lingerie sale in Bloomingdale's brings together four women from varying backgrounds: a former TV serial star, a businesswoman, a bohemian, and an Iowa homemaker. They convene on stage. They soon recognize that they are all experiencing a variety of symptoms of menopause while arguing over a black bra on the sale rack. Subsequently, they proceed to sing about the situation, as would any other woman in their position.
