25 years of marriage meets 1,000 years of history Visiting Westminster Abbey after 25 years was a profoundly moving experience. On our first visit, my wife and I were just starting our journey together as newlyweds. Returning now with our grown children to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary felt like a beautiful tribute to our own history, set against the backdrop of over a millennium of English heritage. Standing in a place that has witnessed over 1,000 years of coronations, weddings, and history is truly humbling. Our children were fascinated by the layers of time preserved within these walls. It was the perfect place to reflect on the passing of time and the enduring strength of vows. Just as it did a quarter-century ago, the Abbey left us in absolute awe. Problemloser Eintritt bei St. Pauls Cathedral, beeindruckende Kirche, in der sogar die Orgel erklang. Der Aufstieg in die Kuppel war in der Tat anstrengend und das obwohl ich sportlich trainiert bin. Die anfangs sehr flachen Stufen gehen bis an die Spitze unentwegt als Wendeltreppe im Kreis. Das macht schwindelig. Die Aussicht ist es allerdings wert! Die Warteschlange vor dem Eingang zur Westminster Abbey war leider auch mit Ticket nicht zu umgehen. In der Abbey waren Menschenmassen, in deren Strom man durchgeleitet wird. Eine für mich merkwürdige, aber auch beeindruckende Kirche schon aufgrund ihrer Bedeutung. Sollte man gesehen haben.

The tour was very good, the tour guide new his stuff. The only bad point was we got to the gift shop at 09:00 as instructed in the email but no guide waiting for us, a few more tourists turned up 09:30 still no guide, 09:45 we were just about to walk away when 4 more tourists turned up I got talking to them and they informed us that they had a email 2 days earlier saying the tour had been delayed by an hour. It would of been nice if we had been informed about the delay.

Tanya was brilliant. She informed and entertained us is a quintessential British way. She took care to get to get to know everyone in the group treating us as individuals according to our cultural backgrounds remarkably well considering the limited amount of time. She skilfully avoided being drowned out by nearby noises when sharing the various locations historically facts and significance. Highly recommended.

Zeer mooie Abbey met goede service, zelfs toen de head out tickets voucher bleken te zijn, deed de kassier niet moeilijk en zette ze om in tickets. Multimedia was erg fijn want werd ook goed duidelijk gemaakt hoe de stamboom van alle koningen en koninginnen in elkaar zit en ook in verhouding met de beelden en bezienswaardigheden in de Abbey.

We were so looking forward to our tied entry at Westminster Abbey. Unfortunately, when we got there, we were told that, because we had "third party tickets" we couldn't enter at our time - we had to wait for others with "direct" tickets to enter first. Very frustrating, especially since I believed I had purchased directly from the Abbey. All went well with entering the Churchhill War Rooms.
