From Cairo: Half-Day Giza Pyramids & Sphinx Guided Tour with Nile Felucca Ride & Hotel Transfers

An unforgettable day at the Giza pyramids – totally recommended! Summary below! On August 2nd, we spontaneously decided at 10 am to take a tour to the pyramids. We initially wanted to organize everything ourselves, but we thankfully opted for a guided tour via GetYourGuide at the last minute (only 2 hours before pickup!) – and that was the perfect choice! Despite the last-minute plan, everything went smoothly. Our driver Mohamed picked us up on time in his 'Batmobile' and safely navigated through traffic to Giza. On the way, we picked up our friendly guide Ramy (not Rama). He greeted us warmly and introduced himself in very good German, while already sharing some exciting info about Egypt and history. Everything was super uncomplicated on-site – no wait times or stress. At the first viewpoint, we relaxed in the shade while Ramy shared tons of interesting facts about the history and construction of the pyramids. The vibe was chill, and the process was well thought out. When it came to taking photos, special care was taken to ensure there were no other tourists in the shot – really attentive! Then we went on the camel tour, which isn’t included in the price – just a heads up. On-site, you can choose between a short round (15 €) and a long round (25 €). We were actually aiming for the short one, but Ramy kindly negotiated for us, so we got the long tour for 20€ – very generous! The ride with a view of the pyramids was an absolute highlight and truly magical. After that, we got even closer to the pyramids and finally headed to the impressive Sphinx. As soon as the tour wrapped up, Mohamed was right there – not even five minutes of waiting! Lastly, we visited a perfume shop where we learned how perfume extracts are made – pretty interesting. Unfortunately, the seller got a bit pushy there and tried to sell persistently. But again, Ramy reacted quickly and professionally: in clear Arabic, he put the seller in check – which was really impressive and showed how much he cares for his guests! In the end, Mohamed took us safely to our destination – all with a smile and good vibes. Conclusion / summary: A fantastic, informative, and very well-organized tour with warm people! We want to highlight Ramy’s competence, kindness, and dedication to our satisfaction. Mohamed was also super reliable and likable. Clear recommendation – thanks for this wonderful day! It was a great experience. Since it was a tour, we didn’t have to stress about transportation or tickets—everything was handled perfectly. I thought there might be delays, but everything was arranged on time. Z was an amazing tour guide—so knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. When my parents needed to use a public restroom and we didn’t have cash, he kindly lent us some. He also took the best pictures with the pyramids. The timing of the tour was perfect—not too short and not too long. At first, I didn’t think visiting the souvenir shops for papyrus paper and perfume was necessary, but later when we went to the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum), we saw papyrus papers again and learned how they were made. That made me realize it was a really valuable experience. Thank you so much!
