A great experience for the whole family. With a great value for money we could visit 3 different attractions. They were all nature related. Being a homeschool family we value the natural interactions. It was a wonderful experience, easy to access all the attractions and an opportunity for bonding and learning together.

The penguins are almost beyond description. People who can't observe the rules and be quiet should not go. Annoying for people who really appreciate the majesty of what you are witnessing. Koala reserve was nice too.

All 3 parks on Phillip Island, easily booked through Headout, provided diverse and interesting experiences. Churchill Island gave a historical perspective, while the Koala reserve informed us of endangered species. The Penguin Parade was the highlight, with the penguins arriving via a "penguin raft" to nest in their burrows for the night.

The tickets bout from Headout were simple to use at each destination. Just scanned the tickets at the gate- no need to chase up anything at all. Will definitely use Headout again in future for tickets

Very nice experience penguins were very cute. Should plan a whole day though to see everything in full. Especially for the penguins with out for good weather.

At every venue i had problems with my ticket - they questioned why i booked through a 3rd party and that it made it difficult because they didn't have a barcode to scan and had to physcially look up my name. This was embarrassing paerticularly at Phillip Island with a queue of about 500 people around us!

What to bring

Bring along your sunscreen, sunglasses, hat reusable water bottle, insect repellant, binoculars, and camera.

It's recommended to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking.

What's not allowed

Strictly no photography or video (with or without flash) is permitted after sunset during the Penguin Parade to protect the penguins.

All Phillip Island Nature Parks attractions are cashless—only contactless payments are accepted.

Smoking, pets, animals, and drones are not allowed on this experience.

Additional information

Visitors can bring assistance animals certified by a registered authority and must remain on designated paths and restrained by a harness or lead.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

For the Penguin Parade, penguins arrive at sunset each evening, with typical arrival times ranging from 8:30 to 9pm in summer (Dec–Feb), 7 to 8pm in autumn (Mar–May), 5:15 to 6pm in winter (Jun–Aug), and 6:30 to 8pm in spring (Sep–Nov).

All revenue supports conservation, research, and wildlife rescue at Phillip Island.

Please note: On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, both Churchill Island and the Koala Conservation Sanctuary will open 2 hours later than usual, at 12pm. If you’re planning a morning visit, be sure to adjust your itinerary.
