Animated guide was excellent and had passion and great insight. The spaces were interesting to see. Thank you for the opportunity to give you some feedback. We did indeed have a problem with our booking. The instructions in the booking confirmation we’re not clear. We were 15 minutes early for our reservation and there was no one to greet us. We expected a Guide to be waiting for us. We were very confused and stressed. My recommendation is that your instructions should have stated the following: “Proceed to the ticket office to collect your tickets. The Ticket office will give you instructions on where to meet your Guide. ” Thank you you have a good day

One thing to note is that you need to go to the ticket office first, show your head out ticket, and then you will receive a paper ticket for the secret passages and a paper ticket for the museum . The ticket office will also give you a location of where to meet your guide. The secret passages tour is well worth doing. You see hidden rooms , paintings and narrow spiral staircases within the palace walls, all described very well by the guide. The last stop before the museum is the beautiful ballroom. There's lots of information to absorb but it's worth it .

Julia was an outstanding guide. She is clearly very passionate about the history of Florence and was able to bring the Palazzo Vecchio and its secret passages to life. Going behind the scenes offered a completely different dimension to the historical site that you just couldn't get from a normal tour. Very highly recommend this tour!

The guide was wonderful and had so much historical knowledge. My friend and I missed the first 15 minutes of the tour because we were supposed to meet at the ticket counter but the guard wouldn't let us in to the ticket counter.

Skip the lines and explore palace-turned-museum on a guided tour of Palazzo Vecchio, led by a licensed expert.

Getting started

Meet your guide near the main entrance of Palazzo Vecchio at Piazza della Signoria for a quick check-in. After going through security you will begin your journey.

What to expect at Palazzo Vecchio

Originally built in the 14th century, Palazzo Vecchio served as Florence’s city hall and later as a Medici residence, housing halls, chambers, and chapels.

Features

Skip-the-line entry: Bypass hour-long queues to the museum.

Guided insight: Your guide will point out allegorical ceiling panels and artworks that reflect the Medici’s political messaging and taste for refinement.

Hall of the Five Hundred: Stand in the grand council chamber as your guide unpacks the stories behind Giorgio Vasari’s monumental frescoes.

Medici apartments: Explore the private quarters of Duke Cosimo I and Eleanor of Toledo.

Museum collections: With expert narration, explore Roman ruins, Renaissance sculptures, fresco cycles, and the Hall of Maps with its 16th-century cartographic panels.

Upgrades

Small group: You can opt for a group of up to 14 guests and get a less crowded and more personalized experience.

Secret passage: Step behind bookcases and through hidden doors to walk in the footsteps of rulers and advisors. Your guide will explain how these passageways were designed for covert meetings and quick escapes.
