The National Gallery of Victoria is a must see whilst in Melbourne and the French Impressionist Exhibition is so beautifully set up it is well worth the visit. The gallery has gone to a notable level of decor, to make the visitor feel like they are in Paris in the 1800s. The paintings are set up to sweep you through the artists' style and views, yet you can also sit back on the many stylish couches and chairs to sink deeper into a reverie that any paintng draws from you. Sensation, is the key word and it delivers.

The exhibits were well curated and exceeded our expectations. It was handy to be able to husband a mobility scooter but it was really small for a taller person. However it was helpful. The exhibition was very popular and it may have been simpler to negotiate if there was a designated flow.

I think the display area for the Impressionist exhibit was fantastic. It was very classy and appropriate. The range of exhibits for each painter was terrific as should some paintings not often seen. I think there was enough space to move around the crowds. I thoroughly enjoyedit.

Inspirational except the green room and the notations in white with green background were difficult to read. The notes on the left on entry were in Mardarin surely English should have been more prominent and have been placed on the left at entry.
