We had a wonderful time visiting the The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi with our 22-month-old daughter. It was such a fun and memorable experience for our family! She was completely fascinated by the colorful fish, sharks, and other marine life, and her excitement made the visit even more special. The aquarium is well-maintained, family-friendly, and easy to explore with a toddler. There were so many beautiful zones that kept her engaged and curious throughout our visit. Watching her discover and learn about God’s amazing creations brought us so much joy. We highly recommend it to families with young children. It’s a perfect place to create precious memories while introducing little ones to the wonders of the underwater world. We had an amazing time at The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi. The layout is beautiful, and the variety of marine life is staggering, walking through the underwater glass tunnel were major highlights. The exhibits are incredibly clean, well-maintained, and highly educational. It’s the perfect escape from the heat and fantastic for all ages, it’s a must-visit when in Abu Dhabi!

What an incredible experience at the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi! From the moment we arrived, the entry process was super smooth and well-organized we walked in without any hassle thanks to the Headout tickets. The aquarium itself is absolutely breathtaking. The massive tanks, the tunnel where you feel surrounded by sharks and rays, and the stunning variety of marine life left us speechless. My favorite moment was watching the graceful manta rays gliding above us it felt magical. The whole place is family-friendly, beautifully designed, and the lighting and ambiance make it perfect for both kids and adults. Highly recommend visiting! This was easily one of the best attractions we experienced in Abu Dhabi. Thank you Headout for making ticket booking so easy and stress-free. Definitely coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My visit to the Butterfly Park and the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi was truly an amazing experience. Since it was a solo trip, I enjoyed every moment peacefully and at my own pace. The best highlight for me was holding the butterflies on my hands and taking beautiful pictures with them. It felt magical and unforgettable. I also loved the otter presentation because it was fun and entertaining to watch. Another mesmerizing moment was watching the divers feed the fish inside the huge aquarium tanks. The entire visit was relaxing, exciting, and filled with wonderful memories. It turned out to be a perfect and fun day for me, and I would definitely love to visit these places again in the future.

Visiting the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi was an amazing experience from start to finish! Why visit the National Aquarium in Abu Dhabi?

In addition to being designed on an epic scale, the National Aquarium is also home to over 35,000 aquatic animals from 300+ species of fish, birds, amphibians, arachnids, and reptiles. The National Aquarium is part of the overall vision of Al Qana which reflects Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030.

The aquarium is made up of 10 themed zones, each offering a unique chance to discover not just rare and exotic species, but also the existence of numerous ecosystems. Visitors get to view and experience the magnitude and raw beauty of marine life with creatures sourced from the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea to the Amazon, the Pacific, the Mediterranean, and the frozen waters of the Arctic.

Conservation & Education

All marine animals in the National Aquarium are responsibly and ethically sourced from around the world. The aquarium features the largest ever underwater tunnel, making the visitor experience all the more exciting and inclusive. As part of its conservation efforts, the aquarium also features a department dedicated entirely to education. This department will undertake a variety of entertaining shows, 60 educational exhibitions, and interactive and live-feeding sessions. With an upgrade to the All Access option, take a walk along the Glass Bridge and marvel at the gorgeous views on the Glass Bottom Boat tour. Get a peek behind the curtains on a Behind the Scenes tour of the aquarium and take home memories for a lifetime.

The Magical Mermaid show

Watch mermaids glide through the waters of the National Aquarium in a live underwater performance designed for families and children of all ages. The 30-minute show runs on August 23–24 and August 30–31, with showtimes at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm. This limited-time experience combines ocean life with theatrical storytelling, making it ideal for birthdays, family outings, or simply a special day in Abu Dhabi. Aquarium staff are available to assist families, and the show is accessible for toddlers, kids, and adults alike.

For safety reasons, the All Access Pass and the Glass Bottom Boat Tour (Bu Tinah Dhow) are not recommended for pregnant guests.

Getting There

By bus

The closest bus stop is Khaleej Al Arabi St / Bus Interchange. It is a quick 4-minute walk to the attraction.

Board buses #21, #22, #101, and more to get you there.

It takes less than 30 minutes to reach Al Qana from Downtown Abu Dhabi. If you’re coming by bus, take route #56 which passes through the Al Maqta region.
