We visited Jeronimo's Monastery in October, and even at this time of year, the queues were ling. But ince our appointed time arrived, we eere ushered in with little fuss. No-one checked IDs, just our time and date. The monastery itself is very photogenic, esoecially the cloister. Unfortunately the high choir area was closed. Still, a great experience for thosed appreciative of Manueline architecture.

Amazing cloisters and church. The lien can vary wildly and we were glad we bought the tickets in advance as they were sold out. The church portion of the tour is free and a separate line and worth a visit.

Tickets were hard to find untill we came across Headout. The Headout App was super easy to use. The ticket prices were great and the instructions were easy to understand.

Easy to select and buy tickets with Headout for the time that fits with your trip. Fascinating history and stunning architecture. Unfortunately part of the chapel was closed off due to repair work when I visited, but the scale and grandeur was still incredible to experience. When you arrive, you know it is going to be special by simply taking in the intricate stonework on the exterior.

What's not allowed

You need an Android (version 5.0+) or iOS smartphone for the audio tour at the monastery. It won't work on Windows Phones, older iPhones/iPads/iPods.

Strict dress code: Please note that off-shoulder tops, dresses, and knee-high shorts are not recommended.

Keep in mind that food & beverages and large bags or backpacks are not allowed on this experience.

Visitors are not allowed to take photographs in some parts of the monastery.

There is medium accessibility for guests with reduced mobility.

The lower level has wheelchair access, though some sections are cobblestoned.

Entry to the church is free for residents of Portugal on Sundays and public holidays.

The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1, and December 25.

The Monastery is closed between 9:30am and 1pm on October 24th and December 5th.
