It was fun to go in a group of just 8, plus driver, in a people carrier. The driver was very informative, and guided us round the castle so we enjoyed the best possible views. He then took us to a port shop in the village, where the owner gave us an very interesting talk. After that we had time out, which allowed us to time for lunch as a nearby cafe, before driving back to Lisbon, again with lots of information about Portuguese history etc.

My wife and I visited Portugal for the first time in April 2026. Our guided tour with a private company was canceled due to Good Friday services. We were so determined to visit Jeronimo's Monastery that we returned to Lisbon 6 days later and bought tickets through HeadOut! A major wishlist was checked off our Bucket List! Buying the tickets ahead of time meant we could skip the line and enter directly. The castle itself is a lovely viewpoint, but not much more. If you are interested in the history then an audio guide is available via a QR code, but you need your own headphones.

Nous avons pu facilement commander les billets mais il a fallu attendre 45mn pour les recevoir.le bon point est qu'une fois achetés, ils sont valables longtemps donc on a pu programmer notre visite pour un autre jour.

Bonjour Je trouve dommage qu'en pré réservant son ticket on ait pas plus d'avantage que quelqu'un qui le prend sur place. De plus il y a différentes queues selon l'horaire et cela est très mal indiqué, je ne l'avais pas vu et me suis retrouvée dans la mauvaise file. Je n'ai pas reçu l'audio guide inclut dans mon tarif. Donc expérience mitigée.

The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, 1st January, Easter Sunday, 1st May, and 25th December.

Some areas may be closed for restoration, but there's still lots to discover at Jerónimos.
