Guide Beatriz was excellent, made the group feel comfortable and dealt well with some of the group "running" late to the meeting point. She added a great deal of value to the Tour which more than justified the price of the excursion, lots of interesting facts as we went through the different areas of the monastery. Ability to skip the line was great, it wasn't a big queue when we arrived but it was towards the end of "high" season. Insights continued as we went around the church which unfortunately had sections closed due to restoration work. Overall excellent service

We were so lucky to have Anna be our guide! She had such wealth of knowledge and was able to share her passion and enthusiasm for the history of the temple, its architecture, the city and what life must have been like in those days. Learning about the little details and understaning the purpose and history of the events that shaped the monastery was such a treat- so worth it! Absolutely recommend it!

Our guide Simone provided a comprehensive tour with her vast knowledge of the Monastery and Padres de Navegation monument. Lots of detailed information that made the tour a rich historical experience.

La guide était très bien, bonne explication avec plein d'anecdotes. Elle nous a laissé du temps pour découvrir le monastère, l'église et prendre des photos. Puis visite de la fabrique et dégustation de Pastel de Nata et pour terminer tour dans le quartier de Belem.... merci pour cette excellente découverte et félicitations à la guide....

Très belle Découverte du monastère des Hiéronymites avec Dee notre guide. Une visite pleine d'Histoire du lieu et du Portugal et beaucoup d'anecdotes. Les deux heures sont passées très vites et Dee nous a même offert un pasteis de Belem et une visite de cette institution. Je recommande vivement.

The lower level is wheelchair accessible, but some areas have cobblestones.

Wheelchairs are available for rent at the entrance.

Additional information

Entry is free for Portuguese residents on Sundays and public holidays, which often leads to larger crowds. If possible, plan your visit on another day.

The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, 1st January, Easter Sunday, 1st May, and 25th December.

Due to ongoing renovations, the Belém Tower is closed to visitors until the end of 2026.
