No tuvimos que esperar mucho para entrar, pero nos parece demasiado caro parao lo que es. La sala donde se entra no tiene no tiene nada destacable y la cripta tampoco. Lo más impresionante y que merece la pena es la capilla

Not crowded as I expected. Stayed til close. My favorite event in Florence.

Medici Chapels

Step back in time to 16th and 17th-century Florence with skip-the-line access to the Medici Chapels. This extension of the 15th-century church was built to honor the Medici family and the Dukes of Tuscany. Discover the crypt where several dukes and their wives are buried.

Visit Cappella dei Principi (Chapel of the Princes), known for its octagonal floor plan and a stunning cupola designed by Buontalenti. Don't miss the New Sacristy, which houses the tombs of Lorenzo and Giuliano de' Medici. Check out the sculptures of Day, Night, Dawn, and Dusk, adorning the Medici tombs as well as the walls of Michelangelo's secret room, which are covered by charcoal drawings attributed to Buonarroti.

Palazzo Vecchio

A visit to Palazzo Vecchio is a journey through three eras of history: Roman, Medieval, and Renaissance. Built in 1299 on the ruins of the Uberti Ghibelline towers, this palace has been Florence’s emblem of civil power for centuries. The Medici family called it their home for over 100 years.

Inside, explore Roman-inspired courtyards, admire intricate paintings, and marvel at sculptures of Florence’s great rulers and heroes. Wander through the stunning Hall of the Five Hundred, explore Francesco I de' Medici’s study, and admire frescoes, paintings, and sculptures by Renaissance masters like David Michelangelo, The Battle of Anghiari by Leonard Da Vinci, and Judith by Donatello.

Bring a valid photo ID to show with your ticket at the Palazzo Vecchio information desk.

What’s not allowed

Please note that sleeveless tops, shorts, and mini-skirts, are not permitted inside the Medici Chapels. We recommend wearing respectful attire at Palazzo Vecchio.

Large bags, suitcases, and backpacks are not allowed.

Consumption of food and drinks is not permitted inside the Chapels.

Photography, videography, and camera equipment are strictly prohibited inside the Medici Chapels and San Lorenzo Church.

Ramps and elevators available to help those with mobility issues.

Palazzo Vecchio

Guests with disabilities can enter the museum for free.

Access for visitors with mobility issues is via the side entrance in Via dei Gondi.

The lift, situated on the ground floor in the Cortile della Dogana, is for guests with reduced mobility only.

You can borrow wheelchairs and strollers free of charge.

Additional information

As Palazzo Vecchio serves as the seat of the city council, it may be fully or partially closed to visitors during official ceremonies.

Photography is allowed inside Palazzo Vecchio but flash photography, tripods, and other camera equipment are prohibited.

Dress appropriately otherwise you will not be allowed to enter the Medici Chapels.

Both attractions are equipped with toilets and restrooms, including wheelchair accessible washrooms. Changing tables are available at the Medici Chapels.

Lockers to store belongings are also available at both locations.
