This was the first time at the Louvre in Paris. Our guide, Ivan, was terrific. His love of all things French, archeology, and especially his love for the Louvre was amazing. The insight he gave us regarding paintings, stories behind the art objects was outstanding. We were sorry our tour was only 2 hours, but that was because of our timeline. I am sure he would have spent more time with us. A wonderful experience and if we get a chance to return, we will ask for him again. C

Don't attempt this museum on your own. Our guide was an amazing art historian that pointed out relevant art while providing the story behind each piece. It really brought everything to life. (Perfect amount of time for a family without being overwhelming.). Her stories behind important art vs famous art was so intreagueing. In addition she told us about the history of the building and how it came to be. Highly Recommend.

We skipped the lines, which was a plus, but halfway through the tour, security guards escorted us out because our guide forgot some documents. We weren't allowed back in, wasting our money/ Our first visit to the Louvre was a disappointment:(

What to expect

The guide will narrate all the details relevant to each section while highlighting the most notable pieces. See the beautiful Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory, the great French neoclassical paintings, and the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Headsets are provided for bigger groups ensuring you don't miss out a thing! Once the tour is over, you are free to stay and explore for as long as you wish.

Choose your preferred language for the guided tour from English, German, French, or Spanish. The tour can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests at a time. You may choose to go on a semi-private tour with fewer than 10 guests.

Flash photography, lighting, or selfie sticks are a no-go inside the venue.

You cannot bring large bags or suitcases to the museum but lockers are available free of charge for smaller items

The museum does not permit items exceeding 55 x 35 x 20 cm.
