Three friends head out on a road trip. Their journey turns into a voyage of self-discovery as well as that of their country.
In Another America, an election is taking place, and democracy as we know it might cease to exist. Three friends escape the internet and the real world and journey to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield Massachusetts. Their travels take them from Venice California across a country divided by conflicting ideologies and economics. By the end of it all, they’ve learned not just a different version of themselves but of their country as well. Slyly provocative, Another America is a spirited journey of discovery of a country's fragile humanity.
Inspired by the documentary True Fans by Dan Austin, the play was adapted into a theatrical road trip by Bill Rosenfield and directed by Joseph Winters. There are 3 actors who play 36 characters of different genders, races, and interests. There will be a sprinkling of props and a smattering of chutzpah as the characters celebrate man's quest to answer the big questions and ignite your imagination.
