11 out of 10. Incredible experience! First, Goose. What an incredible guide. He’s been an island resident for over 20 years, and you could tell he knew how to connect with everyone on the trip. He’s steeped in the history and culture of the islands. I’m a bit of a history buff, and he had thoughtful, accurate sounding answers to an incredible range of questions. We discussed Hawaiian religion, culture, precolonial politics, botany, and even pig hunting. He even had a couple of book recommendations that he added to the list he’d already given me. Did I mention we were on an electric bike ride? And by electric bikes, think electric dirt bikes. This was a challenging ride! At one point, my wife’s chain broke. Without missing a beat, Goose handed her his bike and proceeded to run/skate up the hill alongside us. Somehow, it didn’t slow us down at all. Incredible. Dane was our second guide, and he was pretty awesome too. A local who spent some time going to school in Colorado. Great guy and a great addition to the experience. Even the food at the cafeteria was good! All in all, 11 out of 10. Goose was knowledgeable, generous, engaging, and just an incredible person to spend the day with. I really can’t speak highly enough of him, Dane, or the entire experience. Absolutely worth it!

Going on the e-bike tour at Kualoa Ranch was one of the major highlights of our trip to Hawaii! We loved feeling more immersed in nature and enjoying the peaceful, quiet atmosphere that the bikes allowed us to experience. The e-bikes made the ride so easy and enjoyable, allowing us to take in the scenery without feeling exhausted. Of course, riding through the incredible landscapes where so many famous movies were filmed was an unforgettable experience. I only wish I had a GoPro attached to my helmet because the pictures simply don’t do the ride justice! Our guide, Zanders, was fantastic. He was so positive, full of energy, incredibly knowledgeable, and gave us great direction and information at every turn. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the ranch were a huge part of what made the experience so amazing. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kualoa Ranch!

Our guide TK on the e-bike tour was so sweet and the ride was so fun and beautiful! Loved seeing all the movie site! I definitely recommended doing anything you can through Kualoa Ranch!!

I loved the power of the bike and the guide was pretty entertaining. I also liked the sites we visited for example, the bones from the show skull island.

We booked last minute and wasn't our first pick of the tours , however, we were so glad we ended up doing this one cause it was only us and another family. It basically felt like a private tour of "Jurassic Valley." It was breathtaking from the jump! It wasn't a hard bike trek either, so no need to worry. Our tour guide was also so informative and so lovely!! 10/10

Such beautiful scenery! It was our first time on an e-bike and it was so fun! Definitely made it easier to get up the hills. Learned a lot of interesting facts about the history of the ranch and it was fun to see the movie scene locations. Would definitely recommend this tour

Getting started

Meet your guide at Kualoa Ranch’s Visitor Center, where you’ll receive a safety helmet and your e-mountain bike, adjusted for your height. After a safety briefing and a short practice ride, your guide will assess your bike handling skills before the tour begins.

What to expect

E-bike tour of Kualoa and Ka‘a‘awa valleys

These valleys on Oahu’s windward coast are known for their natural beauty and cinematic history, serving as filming locations for major movies and TV shows. The area features lush jungle, ridges, and panoramic views of the Koʻolau mountain range.

Features

Novice e-bike routes: Choose gentler slopes and valleys covering up to 8 miles approximately in distance, for a more beginner-friendly experience on your e-bike tour.

Advanced e-bike routes: Ride approximately 16 miles of challenging trails, including steep climbs, dirt paths, and single-track sections—ideal for experienced riders seeking a technical adventure.

Movie locations: Stop at iconic filming sites from blockbuster films, with your guide sharing behind-the-scenes stories and local insights.

Scenic photo stops: Enjoy multiple breaks for photos and interpretive commentary, capturing the valleys’ unique landscapes and geological features.

Professional guidance: Your expert guide ensures safety and shares the area’s history, from ancient Hawaiian legends to modern ranch life.

What to bring

Carry a valid photo ID in case it’s required during check-in.

Wear closed-toe, closed-heel footwear; sandals or backless shoes are not permitted.

Bring water, sunscreen, and clothing suitable for outdoor conditions.

Pack a change of clothes, as the tour runs rain or shine and conditions may be wet, muddy, or dusty.

What’s not allowed

Open-toed footwear, sandals, or backless shoes are not permitted.

Riding with more than one person on a bike is not allowed; one rider per bike only.

Guests who are pregnant or have back, neck, or other medical conditions are not permitted to participate.

Pets are not allowed on this experience.

Accessibility

This experience is not wheelchair accessible.

All participants must meet the required physical criteria:

Height: 4’9”–6’5” (144–195 cm)

Weight: 85–250 lbs (38–113 kg)

Age: Minimum age of 10 years

Guests aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Additional information

All riders must successfully complete a pre-ride safety assessment that covers braking, climbing, descending, cornering, steering, and overall control.

Participants who are unable to demonstrate safe and competent bike handling during the assessment will not be permitted to join the tour.

Helmets are provided and must be worn at all times throughout the experience.

Each tour begins with a mandatory safety briefing and training session before departure.
