From Brazil's bank, the curtain lifts all at once — then cross the border and walk straight into the thunder.
Brazilian Side
Getting started
Your guide will collect you from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu and handle all border logistics from the moment you leave. At the Brazilian park entrance, your group boards an open-top eco-bus that winds through the subtropical forest before the falls reveal themselves at the first platform.
-
What to expect: The Brazilian side of Iguaçu National Park is where the full scale of the system hits you in one go — a UNESCO-protected stretch of subtropical jungle where 275 cascades crash across a 2.7-km gorge, visible in their entirety from Brazil's elevated bank.
-
Panoramic Trail & Viewpoints: A series of elevated platforms and hanging walkways trace the Brazilian bank, each one reframing the view as you move along the trail. Your guide names the cascades, explains the geology, and points out the wildlife — coatis, toucans, and butterflies that move freely through the park — as the mist rises from the gorge below.
-
Devil's Throat, the full picture: From Brazil, Devil's Throat appears across the gorge as a wall of white water pouring into the abyss — the only angle where you see the full drop in context, with rainbows forming in the permanent cloud of mist around it.
Argentine Side
Getting started
Your guide collects you from your Foz do Iguaçu hotel and manages the full border crossing into Argentina. At the park entrance, you board the ecological train that cuts through the jungle toward the main circuits — your guide sets the scene as the forest closes in around you.
-
What to expect: Cross into Argentina and the experience inverts entirely — the jungle tightens, the walkways narrow, and the falls stop being something you look at from a distance and become something you stand inside.
-
Upper & Lower Circuits: Suspended bridges and elevated walkways weave between the cascades on both circuits, with the water close enough to feel the mist from almost every viewpoint. Your guide walks you through both, pointing out the ecological train connections and the best spots to pause before the circuits build toward their finale.
-
Devil's Throat, from the edge: The ecological train carries you out to the Devil's Throat walkway — a narrow platform extending over the gorge to the point where 80 metres of near-vertical drop fills your entire field of vision. The thunder reaches you first, then the mist, then the edge itself. There is no view at Iguazú that prepares you for it.
