Od dawna czekałem na otwarcie Wielkiego Muzeum Egipskiego w nowej siedzibie. Moją wizytę oceniam bardzo wysoko. Muzeum jest imponujące. Ogromny gmach, ekspozycja w holu na schodach robi wielkie wrażenie. Zwiedziłem wszystkie z 12 części. Oczywiście największe wrażenie i emocje wzbudzają skarby z grobowca Tutenchamona. Bardzo dobre opisy przy wystawianych eksponatach, dużo miejsca – można wszystko obejrzeć dokładnie i zrobić zdjęcia. Duży plus za łatwo dostępne łazienki i miejsca do odpoczynku. Plus za broszury z planem ekspozycji. Brakowało mi wydawnictwa – katalogu z najważniejszymi eksponatami. Chciałbym mieć taki album, zapłaciłbym za niego nawet 100 USD.

Abbiamo preferito affrontare questa avventura senza guida ed onestamente lo consiglio. Vero: una guida aiuta e soprattutto descrive dettagliatamente il complesso di Giza, ma non ritengo possa essere necessaria. Gustare la vista delle Piramidi, il loro interno e della Sfinge nel loro contesto paesaggistico è una esperienza da vivere assolutamente con o senza guida. Il percorso all'interno del museo è chiaro e le descrizioni di ogni singolo pezzo in mostra è accurata e riassuntiva. Ci è piaciuto ogni singolo secondo passato fra queste Meraviglie ❤️

It was both Ancient and high tech. At the same time. I was there from 11am to 6 pm & loved every single moment spent in the Grand Egyptian Museaum. I was impressed as I approached the magnificent building & felt proud to discover it was an Irish architectural firm who designed the magnificent structure. Everything from the moment I entered until I left was a magical experience. If ever in Cairo again I'll be back there. Those treasures are to be seen to be believed.

When I bought the Skip-the-Line tickets they were stated to be "flexible on timings" but on e-mail contact with Headout I was told that the entrance was a fixed time entrance but that the exit time was flexible. On the day arranged we entered at the fixed time and were thoroughly enjoying our GEM visit but after 3 hours were contacted by our driver to say our visit time had ended, whereas with a flexible exit time we had expected to contact him when we were ready to leave not the other way around. We would have preferred more honest clarity i.e. a fixed entry time and a fixed exit time to know where we stood time-wise. We had been almost ready to leave anyway and it definitely did not spoil our visit to this great museum but it cannot be called "flexible" when it clearly is not.

It was beyond fantastic! I read about Egyptology since I was about five years old, as soon as I could read, it was about mummies and king tut. And to see it in person was just an unbelievably wonderful experience. By the way, what did one sarcophagus say to the other sarcophagus? Don't call me mummy!

Abud Mostafa fue muy amable ypuntual. Nos explicó detalles de la realidad del país. El trayecto al museo fue corto y sin ningún contratiempo. Nos llevó a un rooftop c vista a las piramides que resultó genial. Luego fuimos a una tienda a ver souvenirs. Recomiendo sus servicios

Guide parlant français super sympa, à notre écoute et prévenant. Il nous a fait visiter le musée en nous donnant toutes les précisions importantes. Il a poussé ma mère en chaise roulante pendant toute la visite. C'était une magnifique journée

Additional information

To participate in the Discovery Challenge, participants must have a smartphone to play. Children under 12 years need to be accompanied by a guest above 16 years.

The Discovery Challenge takes place daily at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm, with an additional slot on Saturdays and Wednesdays at 6pm. The starting point is at the information desk in the Grand Hall.
