• Wear shoes with good support and grip since the stone floors can feel damp and slightly slippery.

• Keep a light jacket or shawl with you as the underground area remains cool throughout the day.

• Bring wired earphones if you expect to use an audio guide app because Bluetooth connectivity is unreliable underground.

• Make sure your phone is fully charged for taking photos and accessing the audio guide since there are no charging points inside.

• Photography is not allowed in the interior rooms. Please put away your camera and phone before entering.

• Only the official audio guide provided with your ticket is permitted inside. Personal or external guide devices are not accepted.

Basilica Cistern

• Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed due to space and safety concerns.

• Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the cistern.

• The site is not accessible to wheelchair users. There is a lift near the Alemdar Street exit close to the tram line, yet the paths inside are uneven and include steep sections.

• All visitors must pass through a security check before entering. Wait times can be longer during the busy summer months from June to August, sometimes reaching half an hour.

• Guests with advance reservations may enter the palace up until 4pm.

• For a calmer visit, consider arriving on a weekday near the 9am opening time.

• Your ticket allows you to skip the ticket queue, but all visitors must go through a security check.

• Don’t miss the Medusa heads tucked into the far corner. Walk around them to see both angles.
