Booked the tour solo cause my mates bailed. Turned out better than I thought! You get picked up in this massive 4x4, AC blasting (thank god cause it was HOT). Dune bashing is not for the faint-hearted… legit felt like a rollercoaster. Our driver, Hassan, was chill and played old-school pop tunes. Camel ride tiny bit awkward (camels look grumpy) but fun for the photos. Would say bring ur own water if u can, mine got warm quick. Def worth a go.

Went with my husband and 2 kids – honestly, this was WILD. Our driver, Farooq, was suuuper patient with the little ones (my youngest kept yelling at every bump, lol). Sand dunes were way taller than I pictured. We even tried sandboarding (I wiped out, but it was hilarious). Sunset was unreal—like, the whole sky on fire. Only thing, a bit crowded at the camp but food was sooo tasty (skip the salad, go for the grilled chicken). Would do again!

We did the evening safari! The best part was honestly the stars after sunset—felt like being on another planet. My partner loved the dune bashing, I was more about the camp and the tea (super sweet, but so good). Oh, and the falcons! They let you hold one but you gotta be quick, lots of people waiting for pics. Only thing, some parts felt a bit rushed, but otherwise a magical night.

Took my parents and grandma (79!) on this – thought she’d freak out in the dunes but she was the calmest of all of us. Our guide, Bilal, was a LEGEND. Drove like a pro but always checked if we were okay. The Inland Sea is coool, never seen anything like it. Camp food was better than expected, and the shisha was a nice touch. Bring wet wipes, sand gets everywhere!

WOW what a day! Our group of friends (6 of us) laughed nonstop the whole time. Dune bashing = real life rollercoaster. Hamid our driver had jokes for days. The views at the top of the dunes are UNREAL. Pro tip: wear sunglasses or ur eyes will be full of sand. Also, the camel ride is shorter than you think but cute for the gram. Would go again.

See Doha's skyline, souqs, and cultural sites in the morning, then switch to 4x4 dune bashing, sandboarding, and camel rides in the afternoon. This 8-hour combo covers first-time visitor essentials in one day with a knowledgeable guide throughout.

Getting started

Hotel pickup at 8am. Your guide briefs you on the day's itinerary during the 15-minute drive to the first stop. Bring sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes, and QAR 100-150 for lunch (not included). On a private tour, tell your guide which sites you want to prioritize—shared tours follow a fixed schedule.

Morning city tour (4 hours)

Stop 1: Souq Waqif, Doha's 100-year-old market. Walk through spice alleys, falcon shops, and textile stalls for 45 minutes. Your guide explains the souq's role in Qatar's pearl-diving history.

Stop 2: The Pearl-Qatar, an artificial island with luxury marinas. Photo stop at Porto Arabia Marina lasts 20 minutes.

Stop 3: Katara Cultural Village. Walk past the amphitheater, mosques with blue-tiled domes, and beachfront promenade for 30 minutes.

Stop 4: Museum of Islamic Art exterior on Doha's Corniche. Photo stop lasts 15 minutes. Interior entry not included.

Stop 5: National Museum of Qatar, designed by Jean Nouvel to resemble a desert rose. Exterior photo stop lasts 15 minutes. Interior entry not included.

Lunch break

Your guide recommends nearby restaurants (not included). Budget QAR 100-150 per person and 45-60 minutes. Return to the vehicle by 1pm.

Afternoon desert safari (3.5 hours)

Drive 45 minutes south on Highway 56 to Mesaieed.

Dune bashing lasts 30 minutes across 40-meter slopes.

Sandboarding stop follows with boards provided, guides demonstrate technique.

Drive to the Inland Sea for a 15-minute photo stop.

Return to camp for 10-minute camel rides. Local tea served at camp before the drive back.

Wrapping up

Return drive to Doha takes 50 minutes. Back at your hotel by 4:30-5pm. Total tour time: 8 hours.
