My group was small, only 12 people. Our guide Bogdan took good care of each of us, so nobody would be late or miss anything. He helped those who had trouble with their tickets or had any other questions. Before the tour, I received an email that said what tickets I should buy in advance, therefore I was not worried about not being able to access the castles. The stop in Brasov was about 1,5 hours. First, we had a 30-minute tour around the city center, then we had some free time. The guide gave us some suggestions on places to dine in and what local dishes to order, as well as what sights to visit. Throughout the way, our guide shared some history behind Romania and the castles, which I found very interesting and helpful, as I did not need waste time reading that information all over. Then, we returned to Bucharest at 9:30-10:00 pm. Personally, I felt that 40-50 minutes was not enough for me to enjoy the Peles castle, so my advice is to buy a ticket for an earlier spot, if you have 2 options. This way you can stay longer inside. Also, mind that the temperature in the mountains is going to be much lower than in Bucharest.

La nostra guida Romeo è stato un accompagnatore fantastico! Ci ha guidato e spiegato tutto il tempo ed è stato un piacere ascoltarlo. Ci ha anche consigliato un ristorante buonissimo. Per lui 5 stelle! Peccato che il viaggio nel minivan sia stato molto scomodo, e la guida dell'autista da voltastomaco oltre che molto rischiosa.

The mysterious castles of Romania

Bring comfortable shoes as there will be a significant amount of walking.

If you wish to visit the interior of Peles Castle, purchase your entry ticket in advance from the official Peles Castle website and select the first or second time slot available on your tour date.

Pets are not permitted on this tour.

This tour is not suitable for children under 7 years of age.

Additional information

Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; on these days, only the exterior and gardens are visited, and more time will be spent in Brasov.

The order of site visits may vary depending on the season, weather, and opening hours.

During official holidays and weekends, traffic may be heavier and the return to Bucharest may be later than scheduled (around 9pm–10pm).

Peles Castle is closed for general cleaning and preventive conservation every year in November. During this month, visitors will have the opportunity to visit Pelisor Castle instead.
