The audio was a little off key as when it said look left and you'll see a particular monument or something it was either too early or too late and I saw nothing of significance except what I considered photo worthy myself. It was a very hot day and of course in an open tip bus there's no air conditioning 🙃

Possibility to change lines and suitable connection points. We started from red line (more Historical), after that jumped to Yellow line and finished with Green line - it was close to Autobus station.

The Hop on Hop off bus is a fantastic way to see the city sights when you don't have a lot of time and you want to cover a lot of ground! It's also very relaxing to be driven around sitting on top in the open air. Great experience!

The problem of the being left to find a way back because of whst was happening at the cathedral that afternoon. Lucky we got back to the stop at the Dumo in a quick time to have one help us find a way to get back to Centrale.

The tour was relaxed. Not too fast. When the bus was busy with people pushing in to the queue we waited for 2nd bus and always got a seat. The routes were great. Lots of places to see. One issue was the cramming to get on. But customers need to learn how to queue.

Two of the four bus routes start at Sforza Castle, so the 24-hour pass effectively covers your transit to and from the city's largest museum complex.

Hop on and off across 4 routes and 40+ stops, covering the Duomo, La Scala, Brera district, Parco Sempione, San Siro, and the CityLife skyscrapers.

At least 2 stops indicated on your map were not in operation, busses did not arrive as planned, we had to do a lot of walking. A very poor service overall.

Getting started

Exchange your mobile voucher for the entrance ticket. Bring a valid photo ID, and arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

What to expect

Walk into the castle complex and explore the museum areas at your own pace, using the multilingual audio tour to follow the route without joining a group.

Hop off the bus at the Castello stop (Line A or C, Stop 1) and walk straight to the Filarete Tower entrance.

The Museum of Ancient Art ends at Michelangelo's Pietà Rondanini — the unfinished sculpture he worked on in his final days.

The Sala delle Asse holds Leonardo's only surviving fresco cycle in Milan, a trompe-l'œil canopy of intertwined mulberry trees.

The castle's own Pinacoteca adds 1,500 paintings from the 13th to 18th centuries, including works by Bellini and Canaletto.

The Museum of Musical Instruments features Stradivari violins and rare period pieces.
