Fue un viaje hermoso, llegamos a carcassone y nos quedamos en un hotel llamado le florentine, queda muy cerca de la entrada a la ciudad amurallada e incluido puedes ver el castillos desde allí. Adentro de la ciudad las calllws son emcantadoras y hay muchas opciones para comer y comprar regalos. Recomiendo 100% comprar los tickets al castillo ya que es el corazón de la ciudad y vale totalmente la pena conocer la historia y como es por dentro

Carcassonne is a city with an interesting history. It's history is displayed in the fortress architecture of the castle and ramparts. The ticket allowed for a pleasant stroll along the medieval stone walls. Everything about it was a true learning experience.

El lugar impresiona desde que lo ves de lejos. Fácil aparcamiento y no excesivamente caro. El entorno muy cuidado, limpio, lleno de negocios donde comprar y comer. La visita muy bien organizada, todo con carteles y señalizada. Quedé encantada

Der Besuch der Burg Carcassonne hat mich intensiv beeindruckt. Weil viele Leute um 10:00 Uhr auf den Einlass warten und viele noch kein Ticket haben, ist es sehr empfehlenswert, sich schon vorher ein Online-Ticket gekauft zu haben.

Nous sommes arrivés pour l'ouverture. Début aux remparts et ensuite nous avons assisté à une animation de 45 minutes sur l'histoire du château par Juliette. Vraiment chouette. Notre expérience en a été enrichie.

Getting started

Present you mobile ticket at Carcassonne Castle’s main entrance and breeze past the queues. For the walking tour, use your smartphone and headphones to access the audio guide (downloading it in advance is recommended) and explore at your own pace.

What to expect

This experience combines direct entry to the castle and ramparts with an in-depth walking tour of the city. Use the audio guide to move between 19 narrated stops, from defensive towers to hidden alleys, while uncovering the myths, history, and architecture that define Carcassonne.

What to bring

It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes for the day-long tour.

Carry headphones and ensure your smartphone is charged.

Activate and download the tour in advance as there may be no Wi-Fi and a weak mobile signal at the starting point.

What’s not allowed

Pets are not permitted, except for service animals.

Smoking is prohibited inside the castle.

Scooters, bicycles, helmets, non-folding strollers, and bulky luggage are not permitted inside the Château Comtal or along the ramparts.

This experience may not be fully accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

Additional information

Entry is free for disabled guests with an accompanying adult, jobseekers (on presentation of a certificate less than 6 months old), and holders of a valid education pass or culture pass.

Carcassonne Castle offers free admission on select days, including the European Heritage Days on 20 & 21 September 2025, and on the first Sunday of January, February, March, November, and December.

To avoid large crowds at the entrance, it is recommended to arrive 1 hour after the monument opens.

The museum will remain closed for safety reasons.
