We went at the end of October 2025, it is rather spectacular. Now be prepared for a bit of a climb it's quite steep and totally unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties and not for wheelchairs. Once you make it up there are more steps and stairs, quite steep even through a secret passage. Once at the top parapet the views are magnificent and worth it and because of the time of year with the trees changing, the colours are spectacular. Quite an experience. There's a lovely small market with the usual trinkets at the base of the cliff and some small shops.

Visitare il Castello di Bran in autunno è un’esperienza magica. Le colline della Transilvania si colorano di rosso e oro, e la sagoma del castello che emerge tra la nebbia crea un’atmosfera da leggenda. All’interno, corridoi stretti e stanze antiche raccontano secoli di storia e mistero. L’autunno esalta il fascino del luogo: la luce dorata, il profumo del bosco e il silenzio rendono la visita suggestiva, quasi fuori dal tempo.

Visita emozionante soprattutto per l'atmosfera che lo avvolge, il giro è interessante anche se tutto ciò che viene mostrato è nato e impostato per assecondare l'aspettativa dei turisti più legata alla leggenda che alla storia. Belle possibilità di fare foto scenografiche, bei panorami. Sicuramente vale la pena visitarlo ma credo che in Transilvania possa esserci molto altro.

Discover a secret staircase hidden behind a fireplace that winds between the first and third floors and 57 rooms featuring hand-carved furniture.

In the Guard Room and Medieval Armor Rooms, you’ll find pikes, shields, and suits of armor once used by the castle’s soldiers.

Fun fact: Princess Ilena ran the castle as a hospital during World War II. She named it 'The Hospital of the Queen’s Heart' and provided treatment for wounded soldiers from Brasov.

I enjoy the mystery and history of the castle—it's well preserved, and the spooky decorations add a nice touch. The exterior feels a bit rustic, though. In comparison, Peles Castle is more impressive from the outside.

The castle and it's history are exciting and fun to see and learn about. When we arrived it was light, dark when we left. 3:30pm slot was perfect. We were able to feel the dark mystery as well as the history.
